KatI woke up in the morning to silence. I sat up looking around for Alex. My head was throbbing and I was trying to shake it off which just made it worst. The clock showed me it was 9 in the morning. I turned in the bed to find a note next to me.
~Hey hun! Glad you're awake and reading this. Call me when you are done getting ready and let me know if you are up for lunch. Love you Sweetheart ~Alex
I felt the butterflies in my stomach like usual when he tells me he loves me, even if it is on paper. I got up and hopped into the shower. I brushed my dark brown hair. When I was done I walked into my closet, deciding to wear light blue jeans and a tank top. I grabbed my sunglasses and hopped into the car, heading straight for Starbucks. My phone started ringing.
"I want a cappuccino!" My best friend Selena yelled into the phone.
"Seriously? How did you even know I was going to Starbucks?"
"I didn't, I just expected you to go after I said that and buy me some." I laughed. She's super hyper and younger than me by 3 months, resulting in us both being 26.
"You're lucky I was planning on it anyways. I'll see you at your place in about an hour."
"Oh. I get it. You gonna go do the nasty with Alex first!" I heard Jax's laughter in the background.
"Lena! I'm just gonna drop off his coffee and tell him I can't make it for lunch. That's it."
"Sure you are. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me." I groaned in frustration while she laughed loudly into the phone. "By the way Dylan said the job went well. He's glad we got it done."
"Great, because I'm exhausted from practically staying up all night. I have the worst headache ever and coffee is probably going to just make it worst." I replied feeling the headache coming back since I thought about it.
"Awe, sorry babe! Well take an Advil and I'll see you when you get here. Oh, and tell Alex I said hey" She actually liked Alex and approved of him, otherwise she would have done her best to get rid of him. It would have been an awful experience for him if he had a target on his back from Selena. "Who would have ever thought little Miss Kitty Kat would fall in love and get married!"
"Oh shut up!! It's been 3 weeks already! Get over it!" I hissed.
"Yes m'am!" I could see her saluting into the phone. "Just get here fast. I need my morning coffee! And maybe bring Jax a frappe. His favorite is-"
I cut her off, "I know Lena. You make me get him a frappe everyday, I think I would remember it by now."
"Yeah, yeah. Just hurry. Keep your kisses short and only on his mouth." She giggled and hung up before I could come up with a response.

I walked into Blade Enterprises and headed for the top floor where I knew Alex would be. The security guard, Roger, that always got on the elevator with me, said hello and scanned his badge when we got to floor 32. I decided to stop at Alex's secretary's desk.
"Hello Olivia." She glared at me.
"Can I help you?" Olivia replied rudely. She's hated me since I met her and I know it's because she has a little crush on Alex. Honestly though I don't really like her much either.
"Is Alex in there?"
"I'm surprised you're asking instead of just barging in there like usual."
"Well I'm trying to be courteous because the last time I 'barged in' there were other people and you weren't at your work station to tell me not to enter." Olivia put all her hatred into the look she was giving me while I was trying not to laugh.
"Anyways, you aren't going in there because I'm sure he doesn't want to see you." She smirked.
"Excuse me. What makes you think he wouldn't want to see me?"
She scoffed, "I mean who would want to see you?"
"Ok. I'm done playing games. I don't care what feelings you have for my husband and I don't care how long you have worked with him, if you are not going to act respectful, then I will make sure you are fired and there is someone else at this desk the next time I come in." I walked away from her and towards the doors of his office. This chick actually had the nerve to stand up, reach for the door, and stand in front of it like she wasn't going to let me through.
"He doesn't want anyone in there including his 'wife'." She actually shaped her fingers into quotation marks and quoted "wife".
"Well I am his 'wife' and I am going in, so please move to the side."
"Seriously you are being extremely childish. If he says he doesn't want anyone in his office, it is my job to make sure no one enters his office. Do not make me call security on you."
"Now you are over doing it. Alex would never have a problem with me entering his office and you are just reeking of desperation to what? Keep him all to yourself or please his supposed wishes? You know damn well when he told you not to let anyone in, he meant work related because there has never been a day when I have come and he has told me to leave. Now, I suggest you move out of my way and let me see my husband before I do something I won't regret and it will involve you feeling physical pain."
"Is that a threat?" Her gaze faltered and she seemed hesitant to hear my response.
I stared her dead in the eyes and replied, "I don't make threats."
