Chapter 7

Cassie's P.O.V.

"Wait you guys almost kissed?!"

I covered my hands over my face "Yes"

"So what happened?" Carly asked.

I was FaceTiming with Carly on my laptop the next morning. I was sitting on my bed with my legs crisscrossed in front of me.

I uncovered my face "Well I told him I couldn't do it then I ran away like an idiot"

"Well you are an idiot"

I opened my mouth in a gasp expression "Well thanks"

She laughed "I'm kidding! But you are kind of a jerk for just running away like that"

"I know"

"Are you going to talk to him?" She asked.

"Should I?"

She gave me a come on look "Duh! Okay let me ask you. How do you feel when your around him?"

I pursued my lips together "Well I get butterflies when I'm around him. I also get so nervous I feel like I'm going to puke, sometimes. When I'm not with him I want to be around him. Whenever he smiles it feels like my heart skips a beat. And his eyes, they just draw me in every time" My eyes were gliding off the computer screen.

"Okay how long have you known this guy?"

I looked at her and laughed "It just feels like I've known him for a long time. You know he was in he same Battalion as Liam, in Afghanistan"

"Hm maybe he knew him" She suggested.

I shrugged my shoulders "I doubt it"

"Well it sounds like you really have feelings for Jay. So show him how you feel. Liam would want you to be happy and move on"

I thought about it and nodded my head "Yea"

"I gotta go. Details later" She raised her eyebrows.

I laughed before she hung up. I closed my laptop and let out a soft sigh. I swung my legs over the bed and stood up. I reached for the ring inside my pocket and took it out. I let out a sigh before I laid it down on the nightstand. I walked out of the room.

I walked downstairs to see Kelly looking through the fridge.

"Hey" I said as I approached him.

"Hey" He said without looking at me. He took out a bottled water and closed the fridge.

"How was shift?" I asked as I leaned against the counter.

He took the cap off and took a long sip. He closed the cap "It was good, I'm still pretty tired so I'm gonna take a nap" He said as he began walking towards the stairs.

"Okay, I'm gonna get ready and head to work" I said as I followed him.

After a long day of work instead of going home I went straight to Jay's apartment. I was still wearing my badge over my neck like a necklace but I didn't care. I approached his door and knocked a few times. I waited only about a minute until Jay opened the door halfway.
