Chapter 19

Cassie's P.O.V.

I felt something soft on my forehead. I lightly fluttered my eyes open. Jay was standing next to me. I lightly stretched and smiled "Hi"

"Morning" He smiled at me.

I groaned as I wrapped my arms around his neck "Where were you last night? I needed you"

He lightly chuckled "I know. Voight called the team in because one of the officers son at the district went missing"

I unwrapped my arms and sat up up in the bed "I came on my break to check on you" He said as he sat on the bed.

"How did you get in?" I asked.

"I ran into Kelly so he let me in"

I nodded my head "Okay"

"I gotta get back, but I just wanted to see you"

I smiled "Aw that's sweet"

He leaned in and kissed my lips. I happily kissed back "I'll call you"

"Okay" I said nodding my head.

He smiled at me as he stood up and walked out of the room. After a few minutes I got out of bed and walked into the kitchen.

"Hey" Kelly said as he was making breakfast in the kitchen.

"Hey"

"So I'm guessing you and Jay worked things out?"

I sat at the table "Yup"

"Good, it's about time. So what are your plans for today?"

"Well, since my boyfriend is playing detective I'm probably going to run errands" I said shrugging my shoulders.

"Okay, well I only got a few hours of sleep last night so I'll be sleeping most of the day"

"Okay, sounds good"

After I ate breakfast and freshened up I left the apartment. I stopped by a few places to run some errands before I stopped by the 31st.

"Hey" Nathan greeted me as he was sitting at his desk "I thought today was your day off?"

"It is, but I came to pick up something" I said heading to the cabinet.

Someone walked into the room "Nathan, Connor wants to see you"

"Alright thanks" He said. Nathan stood up from his desk "You staying here long?" He asked me.

"No, I'm heading out right now"

"Okay, I'll see you" He said walking out.

I turned back to the cabinet and opened it. I began to look through files.

I was at the apartment for most of the day while Kelly was sleeping. I was in the living room for awhile before moving to the bedroom. When the evening rolled around I left with Kelly and headed to Molly's. We both sat at the same table and ordered a few beers.

"I told you to stop watching so many movies"

"I know, but when Jay and I were fighting I had nothing else to day when I was off work" I shrugged my shoulders.
