Lauren

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the room. The sound of light snores caused me to look beside me. I smiled when I saw Jay laying there. He's usually gone when I wake up.

I quietly got out of bed to use the bathroom and brush my teeth. Once I was finished, I went into the kitchen to cook breakfast. I turned pandora on so I could listen to music while I cook.

"Mommy!" Kody yelled "I'm hungry!"

"Im cooking now."

"Bacon?" He appeared at the doorway of the kitchen

"Yes." I nodded

"Bacooonnn!" He ran into the living room

"Can we have heart pancakes?" Lyric walked into the kitchen and stood beside me

"Sure. If that's the shape you want."

"Hearts and stars!"

"I can try to do stars for you."

"Ok." She smiled and walked out.

I continued to cook breakfast. I was mixing the pancake mix when Lyric ran into the kitchen with Kody behind her.

"Waiiiiit! I want mickey mouse pancakes! For you and daddy too!"

"Yea! Mouse cakes!" Kody agreed

"Ok. You sure? Cause once I make them, thats it."

They both nodded.

I pour the mix onto the griddle and waited until it was time to flip them.

"Damn, I'm good." I laughed at myself as I flipped over the last pancake

"Food is ready!" I yelled as I grabbed plates from the cabinet

"Food is ready!" I yelled as I grabbed plates from the cabinet.

"Mickey mouse?" Jay asked as he walked to the table

"Your kids request."

Jay and I sat at the table, talking after we were finished with breakfast and I had washed dishes

"Baby. I need you to give me the total for all the bills this month so I can give you the money to pay them." Jay looked up from his phone.

"We splitting the bills right?"

"Nah." He shook his head

"Why not? I have money too."

"Thats cool. Keep your money though. I got this."

"I guess." I got up to get the bills for this month.

Jay went into the bedroom and a few moments later, I heard the shower running.

I sat back down and pulled each bill out of the envelope. I double checked each one to make sure everything looked normal.

"Where's my phone?" I mumbled to myself as I lifted up the papers. "I'll just use his." I spotted Jay's phone.

I pressed the home button to light up the screen. I entered in his password but it didn't unlock.

I raised an eyebrow before trying to enter the password again.

"The fuck." I paused. "2-9-5-7." I typed the password but once again, it didn't work.

I sat his phone down and folded my arms, waiting for him to come back. His password has always been the same but all of a sudden he wants to change it.

10 minutes later

I could hear Jay walking down the hall. He turned the corner and walked into the kitchen. He was now fully dressed in a suit. I thought he wasn't going to work today but I guess I was wrong. He opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water.

"Why is your password changed?" I held his phone up.

"What?"

"Don't what me. You heard what I asked."

"You tripping."

"I'm tripping? Oh aight." I nodded

"I changed it the other day. I forgot to tell you. My bad. Damn."

"What was the need to change it in the first place?"

"It is my phone. I have the right to change the password when I feel like it."

"Oh so that's what we on now? I got you."

He sighed loudly. "Listen. The new code is 9516. I need this though." He grabbed his phone out of my hand and kissed my forehead before walking out of the house.
