Silence. That's what I'm greeted with. Completely awkward and very uncomfortable silence. I let go of Skylar's hand and begin to walk toward the kitchen. I watch as everyone gives me different looks. Some filled with sympathy and some with... pride? Why? I don't know.
I finally reach the kitchen and find Theodore and Alexander sitting at a table, discreetly discussing something. Once I get close, they finally notice me and stop speaking. I feel Skylar's presence behind me so I remain calm. Theodore is first to look at me and there is a slight change in his facial expression. His hair is tousled as if he had been furiously running his hands through them. As if he was worried about me.
Finally, Alexander turns around and instantly my expression becomes hard. I walk over to the table and stand between the two men. I smile at the two of them, then my gaze turns cold.
"I want answers and I want them now. What are you?" I demand, crossing my arms over my chest. Theodore smiles in amusement. The nerve of this guy!
"A 'Hi. Nice to meet you, Theo.' would've been nice but we're cutting right to the chase, then. Let me, at least, formally introduce myself. I am Theodore Archer." He mockingly bows, an amused smirk on his face.
"Answers. Now" I slam my hand onto the table and Theo raises his hands up in surrender.
"Alright, alright. Jeez. Answers. I get it. No need to get violent." He says with a wide grin, revealing his perfectly straight, white teeth. He sighs.
"Werewolves." Huh?
"Come again?" I voice my thoughts. Werewolves?
"We," He motions to himself, Alexander and Skylar. "are werewolves. Our pack is the most strongest pack in America. We are known as the Silver Night Pack. Skylar is my third in command and Alexander is..." He trails off.
" Your second? Beta?" He nods his head. He's not even a werewolf. Or has he been hiding that? "And let me guess, you're the Alpha?"
"How did you..?"
"I'm not stupid. I've read enough books to know an Alpha when I see one. And, plus, you were blabbing on about your second and third so I just assumed you were the Alpha." I say, a small smirk appearing on my face.
They stare at me with shocked faces and Skylar gives me an apologetic look. I give her a smile, indicating that it's fine.
"But Alexander isn't even a werewolf. How the hell can he be your second?" I inquire, confused as to how a human can become a Beta to a werewolf pack unless they are an actual... wait a minute!
"You've got to be kidding me!" A humorless laugh escapes my mouth. "You're a werewolf," I say, pointing at Alexander. "Why didn't I know about this? How long have you known?" I ask, furrowing my brows.
"He didn't shift until he was 15 years old. There was no way he could've told you-" I abruptly interrupt him.
"He could've come back. But he didn't." I look in Alexanders direction to find him fiddling with something on his wrist. The matching nightingale bracelet. The one with a little dark blue nightingale fixed onto a black chain. The one that looks exactly like mine. He kept it. It seems like he's in deep thought.
"How?" I ask, still confused. None of my parents were. Well, as far as I know. Who knows what they had been hiding from me.
"Mom was a hybrid. Half werewolf and half... we don't know, yet. I guess I took the werewolf side of the family. Generations among generations, moms ancestors were either purebreds or hybrids. Purebred being-"
"I know what they are," I say, rolling my eyes. He sighs.
"Okay, then. Mom was, as I said, a hybrid. Her dad was a werewolf, her mom, a vampire. Since they were the children of the leaders, they managed to make peace." He takes a deep breath before continuing. "Ever since, there has been no war between the two. Until, now. The vampires know of you. They know that you're different." He finishes but I know theres more to the story.
"Well, then, what am I?" I question.
"You're a wizard, Harry." Skylar chimes in with her best imitation of Hagrid and we all turn around to face her. She gives us a sheepish grin. "Sorry, it was in the spur of the moment. Please, do continue." She waves her hands. I laugh a little. The boys remain as stoic as ever.
"We don't know." Theo brings me out of my little fit of laughter. "But, I'm willing to find out. You haven't experienced any changes. You should've when you were at least 15 or 16. You're 18 now. You could be something bigger. And if other packs find out about what you are before we do, we're screwed."

I know. Short chapter. Like really short. But if I wrote more, it would've been super duper long. Like extremely long. I couldn't put everything into one chapter but next chapter won't be short. Hopefully, you liked this chapter. Leave a comment, telling me your thoughts.
Have a nice day!
