They got home exactly 3 months to the day they had left. Everyone was all smiles, especially Kiwi for he could see his Canadian once more.
He made his way upstairs to his room, hoping she would be out on her balcony. Instead, all he saw was an empty bedroom and a hopeless dream.
His attention diverted to the package on his bed. He smiled softly and shook his head, wondering if she had thought the same before she found his or if she then stole the idea from him.
He sat down and opened it slowly, savoring the time he had. He dumped everything out on his bed and scanned the objects. Their was a copy of The a Nightmare Before Christmas as well as Psycho and The Silence of the Lambs. Green Day's American Idiot had been lodged between the DVDs. He noticed a card and picked it up, opening it quickly.
Inside was a letter but their was also a picture. A polaroid of the bright eyed girl stared back at him with a large smile on her face. She had signed it in black Sharpie, "I like you a lot ;) xx"
He smiled down at the picture, thinking of the moments they shared on their balconies. His eyes wandered to the letter in his other hand and he opened it up to read.
"Dear Kiwi,
I'm writing this to you the day before you leave and two days before I. I never told you I was going because I knew for some reason, if I told you, I'd want to stay even more. I'm leaving for Canada, Vancouver to be exact. I'm going to college to study forensics and maybe someday I'll be able to solve my mother's case.
I hope to be back during break which is about two weeks after you get back. If your feelings are the same, I'd like to get to know you better.
I love you, Kiwi.
- Canadian
P.S. You should come visit sometime."
He set the letter down by him, grinning like an idiot, beside a pack of cigarettes and an orange lighter.
