"Aaaahhh," I shrieked. I had just barely missed the ledge, and was now plummeting to my doom in the space between. The zherti below me reached out to destroy me, but I was saved by an outstretched hand. I quickly grabbed onto it, and it pulled me shakily up with the help of two more hands.

Zachary and Pamela had saved me, with Mr White pulling from behind them.

"Thanks," I began, but was interrupted by Pamela.

"No time for thanks now! Run!"

I nodded and we all ran to the source of the monsters, Origami leading the way.

"We're almost there!" She cried in my sister's voice.

Ahead of us, I saw a huge dome. It was slightly transparent, with a swirling of thick, oily substance caressing it's surface. Inside the dome I could just make out a few broken and battered buildings, as well as a multitude of the zombie-like creatures we were avoiding. The atmosphere of the place was horrendous and dead.

"Agh!" I exclaimed, still running and jumping, with a little help from the others, "Is that it over there?"

"You mean that gross force-field thing?" Zachary responded, "What is that?"

"Zhormii. I should have known," Origami sighed doubtfully, fluttering slightly slower.

"What?!" shouted Pamela. She leapt onto our - was it fifth? - roof, tumbling down but rolling and hopping back up. Zachary's father was just ahead of her, with the boy in the lead. I was staggering behind them.

"It's hard to explain, but that - what's the word you used? - force field, is going to have to be penetrated in order to weaken Zhormii enough for you to be able to finish him off!"

"Finish him off?!" I gulped. I was not a murderer.

"No!" Origami yelled sweetly, "Simply destroy the piece of his soul that can reach this specific planet. Another thing that's hard to ex-"

"Aaaghhhah!!" Pamela shrieked. One of the zherti has figured out how to get up to us, and was ripping at her from behind. I ran up to her, quickening my breathless pace, and slashed through the merciless creature. There was no time to think - I just pulled it out of my belt and threw it down upon that monster.

Pamela grabbed my sword and healed her wounds, getting up unsteadily and starting to run weakly. I gritted my teeth and ran after her, and once she was done healing herself she tossed it back to me.

"Thank you, Elizabeth!" she cried. I stopped gritting my teeth and sighed.

"We're going to have to jump off soon!" Zachary yelled from ahead.

"What?!" I asked. I didn't hear him properly; all I got was 'half to lump soot'

He turned his face back to me with a smile, still running, "If I jumped off a cliff, would you follow me?"

And he jumped.
