Have you ever had a moment where everything stopped? My mind just stopped. But somehow I recollected myself. Somehow I remained calm.

"He wants to meet me?" my stomach dropped, along with my heart. "I- I'll meet him."

My Mother snapped her head up to look at me. "What?" hurt filled her eyes. I knew what I said wouldn't have settled well with her.

"Mom I have a family that I know nothing about," I looked into her sad eyes. "I just want to know about them. Please?"

"Okay. Jack can you please go with her?" she looked at Jack. He slowly nodded his head. "Thank you. I can't see him again. It hurts too much."

"How far away is his house?" I looked up to my Mom.

"Not that far. His child should've gone to the same school as you," she gave me a forced smile.

"Do you think I look fine in this?" I pulled at the casual clothes I had picked out. Was he expecting formal clothes?

"It's fine," she grabbed my cheeks into her hands. "You don't have to impress this family of yours. They do not deserve you at your greatest."

"Okay," I bit my lip. "I love you," I pulled her into a hug.

"I love you too Y/n."

I heard a knock on the door and felt anxiety flood me. I ran to the door and opened it. "Oh thank the Lord."

"Hey, you okay?" Jack asked as he pulled me into a hug.

"Yeah, let's just go," I hugged him back before letting go and grabbing his hand. I ran out to his car and climbed into my seat. He got into the car and turned the radio on. He started to drive using the address we had. "I'm nervous."

"We'll be fine," he gave me a soft smile.

"Okay," I let out a shaky breath. "It's just that he hasn't wanted anything to do with me but now he does."

"That must be hard but I'll be beside you the whole time," he placed his hand on mine, softly gripping it.

I smiled at him, gripping his hand back. "Thank you for coming."

"Anything for you."

The rest of the ride was sickeningly quiet. I felt the sudden need to throw up as we pulled into the driveway of my Dad's house. I saw some girl with blonde hair through the window. I gave Jack's hand a squeeze before climbing out of the car. He got out quickly after me and reconnected our hands. I could tell he was pretty nervous too.

We walked up to the door and I knocked on it. I waited as I heard footsteps coming towards the door. As they got closer my grip on Jack's hand got tighter. The door opened, the light of the house shed onto us. I stood face to face with my Dad. He had the same h/c hair and e/c eyes as me. I took a deep breath as I looked up at him.

"Hey," he gave me a soft smile. "It wouldn't be good to hug you would it?"

"Hi," I replied. I opened my arms to give the male a hug. He looked shocked by my actions but took me into his arms. I wrapped my arms around him too. I held the tears that threatened to spill out of my eyes back.
