"he's here, she's back"
The day they both graduated?
May 19, 2009
Joselyn was so excited to be graduating. She had dreamt of being able to stand on stage with a cap and gown, being able to receiving her degree in creative writing. She may have not been valedictorian, but hey, it wasn't like she was exceptionally good at every subject.
Connor had been also waiting for graduation day to arrive, he had a case of senioritis, meaning he was too lazy to do anything relating to school because he was basically done with school. After all Connor had a career lined up for him. He would become a therapist after completing his years in college studying psychology.
As Joselyn walked across the stage in her cap and gown which were green and white, she smiled at the crowd. Somewhere in there Jane must have been taking pictures. But, two other important people in her life, were nowhere to be found. Her parents.
Joselyn didn't think about the negative thoughts she had about her parents not showing up, she shook her head and looked back up and smiled.
Shaking her professor's hand she was handed her certificate, and tucked away her sleeve as she grabbed the certificate, smiled to the audience and left the stage.
On the other side of the city, Connor was getting ready for his graduation. He had been awaiting this day for a long while. Putting his phone and keys into his pocket, he slipped on his shoes. Anticipating rain, he grabbed his umbrella on the way out.
Walking over to Luke's house, he knocked on the door and Luke came out and hugged him. Luke was a dirty blonde with green eyes and had somewhat pale skin. Luke had been Connor's friend since high school when they had both been on the cross country team. After meeting one another in the sport during freshman year, they had been near inseparable ever since.
The high school friends joined Ty and Flynn in the living room and sat down. Ty was a brunette and had brown eyes. Flynn had the same basic appearance but his body was more muscular built, in contrast to his twin brother's body. Ty and Flynn had also been inseparable, but since birth. They hadn't argued much, except for when Flynn blurted out to Ty's crush in middle school that he liked her. Ty stopped talking to Flynn for a week and gave in because his mom threatened to ground him if he held up this act any longer.
As the four close friends watched the hockey game, they all screamed in joy as the team they had a higher liking to, in green and black, scored a goal.
Meanwhile at Joselyn's graduation, after Joselyn took pictures with her friends, with Jane following her around of course. She had finally found Brayden and the two hugged.
Jane rolled her eyes and left to go use the restroom with the camera strapped around her neck. Finally free of school, Brayden leaned close for a kiss but Joselyn, surprisingly, pressed the palm of her hand to his chest.
Brayden looked at her in shock, she had never rejected one of his kisses before. Sure, he had rejected a few of hers. But this was something different to him.
Joselyn didn't realize what she was doing until she finally blurted the words that nobody wanted to ever hear: We need to talk.
Immediately Brayden's face dropped, why did she want to talk?
Was she breaking up with me? Brayden thought to himself.
Brayden shoved those thoughts away as he asked why.
Joselyn nervously looked down at her perfectly painted pastel purple toes as she stammered a couple of irrelevant words and finally said quietly, "I-I'm breaking up with you."
