okay, i know that i haven't posted in forever and again i am SO SORRY! but it's summer now so i'm going to have lot of time to write. and if not, you guys have permission to set an angry chuck norris on me. okay, now story time :D
Christa’s eyes were as wide as saucers as she saw the approaching guards. Panicked, her voice went high as she said, “What do we do?!” Braden put a finger to his lips for her to be silent and whispered, “One of the guards has teleportation. I can’t get us very far, but I can get us out of the room. Hold onto my arms, okay?”
We nodded and stepped closer. Before I could even take a breath we were thrust into darkness for a moment. When we were in the light again, I saw that we were on the opposite side of the building than the guards. We ran off without a word, not stopping until we neared the dorms. Braden said goodbye quickly, so Christa and I went upstairs to her room. True to form, she immediately began talking, “What do you think? Why was the dean doing that?! Do you think you should request a room switch? I wouldn’t want to go anywhere NEAR Teagan if I were you…. Maybe you should transfer to a different academy? There are five across the country, not counting the one that’s here at our school right now…”
“I honestly don’t know, Christa. I think I need some time to think, because this is all really strange. I hadn’t even done anything to anger either of them.”
“Okay, but check back in with me before dinner okay? If something else happens to you I want to know quickly.” I nodded and said goodbye, walking slowly back to my room. I opened the door and saw Gemma sitting on the couch doing homework. She looked up and her eyes widened as she looked at me. Before I could even say hi she began speaking in a worried tone, “What happened to you?! I saw you fly out a window and the next thing I know you’re in the infirmary, Teagan has a personality switch, and a bunch of rumors started going around!” I forced a smile onto my face and began talking, “Well, when I flew after Teagan I lost her, and was really disoriented because it was still my first day. I wasn’t looking forward, and didn’t see the tree until my face found it. That’s the last thing I remember until I woke up in the infirmary today.” Gemma still seemed unsure but nodded and said, “Well I’m glad that youre okay! I wouldn’t want my new roommate to leave school so soon!” I smiled, walked to my door and said, “Well I’m going to go change but I’ll talk to you later!”
I opened my door and once again collapsed on the bed, somehow exhausted from laying in bed all week. When I opened my eyes again, somebody was shaking me. Groggy, I looked up into Gemma’s bright eyes as she said loudly, “Get UP! It’s time for dinner! I swear you sleep like the dead!” I stumbled out of bed and put my uniform on as Gemma left my room. I looked at the clock and realized that I had been asleep for four hours! Stumbling as I attempted to walk and put my shoes on, I opened the door and left the dorm with Gemma leading me. As I walked into the dining hall, everybody looked up once again. Christa waved to me from across the hall, so I got my food and headed straight towards her. Her tone was annoyed as she said, “WHY didn’t you check up with me before dinner?”
“I totally forgot! I am so sorry Christa! But really, it’s not like anybody will try to kill me three times in one week!”
“THREE times?! What was the first time?!”
“I never told you about when someone twisted my wings, did I?” I said as I smiled weakly.
She looked even more annoyed as she said, “No, you did not feel the need to inform me of the fact that there were two attempts on your life during your first day at school here, or even think about it when I looked at you. Is there anything else you would like to tell me, or would you rather I jus- OH MY GOSH Teagan is walking over here. If that biotch acts like she found you and rescued you right to your face I swear I am going to-“
“Hi Marissa! Are you feeling okay? I heard you got out of the infirmary today but when I went to talk to you, I saw that you were asleep!”
If looks could kill, Teagan would have been thrice dead as Christa looked up at her. For a sweet looking girl with her blonde ringlets and big eyes, Christa looked like the devil personified. “Marissa I doing okay now, no thanks to you you little-“
“I’m doing fine now, just a little light headed! Thank you for finding me, it’s a good thing that you did! Could you imagine if I had been stuck unconscious there all day?” I said with a smile as I interrupted Christa before she could say anything else. Teagan, looking unsure of why Christa kept shooting her murderous glances as I spoke, smiled and said, “Oh it was nothing, really. I’m sure somebody would have found you soon enough! If you need any help with schoolwork you missed I’ll gladly help you! Since it’s Sunday tomorrow we could have all day to work!” I smiled ,“That sounds great Teagan! Maybe you could give me some flying tips too? I couldn’t seem to just get off of the ground when I tried to.”
“Of course! Well, I’ll see you later; I still need to get my food. Bye!” she said as she walked away. Christa immediately turned to me and began talking a mile a minute. “Okay, I know you’re just trying to get closer to Teagan so that you can figure this entire thing out, but I still like the whole ‘ignoring her’ idea way more. This is just going to give her and her bipolar mom a chance to hurt you again.”
I nodded. “I understand that, but unfortunately I don’t understand what’s been happening and that needs to change. Getting close to Teagan might be the only way to do this, and I want to take advantage of her strangely sunny personality while it lasts, okay?”
Christa sounded defeated as she nodded and said, “Fine, just be careful okay? I have a weird feeling about this whole thing.”
“I promise I will be. Don’t worry, now that I know to be careful I can take care of myself.”
