Chapter 4: Tennis Courts

Previously:

He still wore that shockingly white smirk on his face. "Sting." He simply stated.

With that response I lifted my head up and spun around in a circle taking in my surroundings. Sting... That's an interesting name.

Beds of grass, dotted with concrete walkways filled the open campus. The large office building towered in the distance, it's marble columns making the building's authority known. Closer in the distance was an intricate enigma of stairs and hallways with rows of doors leading to one's class. To the right of the horde of classrooms were large fenced tennis courts, large lights popping out of the top.

I strutted towards the tennis courts. I love tennis! It's a game where all responsibility falls on you and no one else is to blame when you fail. In other words it was the perfect sport to show off while embarrassing your opponent! Of course I never really cared for the embarrassment part. I transitioned into a jog, my legs feeling a slight burn. I stopped to a halt when the tall fenced walls were meters away.

I haven't felt this free and rejuvenated in a long time! A grin edged itself across my face. I wanted to do something spontaneous! Maybe I could graffiti the classroom windows, flood a classroom, or pull a fire alarm. The possibilities were endless. I could just image how happy and free I would be.

A slick, transparent material covered the outside of the court's fence making it practically impossible to climb over by yourself. But I wasn't alone. The gate leading onto the court had a single metal lock strung between the chain links, permitting us from entering.

I looked over my shoulder to see Sting close enough to touch, his eyebrows raised. His lips parted, ready to give me a piece of his mind when I swiftly interrupted him.

"Sting, give me a lift over this fence. After, I'll pull you over." I demanded. The lock was too much of a hassle to destroy with our magic especially since it would create unwanted attention. Wait, what magic does Sting use? I brushed away that thought. Now wasn't time for unnecessary questions. If we didn't hurry up we were going to get caught! I turned my back towards him and poised myself ready to be raised into the air.

My face heated up as I lifted my hand to shield my madly blushing face. Sting had wrapped his arms around my waist, hoisting me through the air. He just had to grab me by the waist?!?!? I struggled to hold back a bombardment of curse words directed at Sting.

Instead I strained my arms to clutch the chain links that were jutting above its slick cover. My right arm's gash stretched, cracking the scab. I bit my lip, afraid I would shout out in pain. When at last I griped them, I swung myself over the fence. I hooked my toes onto the grip-able side of the fence. This was turning out to be way harder than I thought! How was I supposed to get Sting over this fence? I slowly climbed down the flimsy metal rungs, landing softly.

Bits of a muffled voice reached my ears. I leaned closer to the fence until I heard Sting's voice. "Damn it, Lucy! That bastard. Just leaving me here to get caught. I should have never trusted her! Whatever.." Small clouds of dirt wafted into the air as he shuffled away. I couldn't help but chuckle, which apparently got Sting's attention. He rotated around and faced towards the fence.

"That you, Blondie?" He asked, a hint of desperation wavering in his voice. I rolled my eyes. Would he quite it with that dumb nickname? Yet, at the same time I felt a little reassured. It wasn't like we had known each other for a long time. But as ridiculous as it was, it made me feel wanted and I liked that.

We stood facing each other for minutes. A peaceful silence settled over us. A light clink from my celestial keys making contact with one another, composed a amicable tune. The only movement was the slight breeze weaving through the blades of grass. Wait...my Celestial Key! My fingers fumbled with the golden keys. The grooves of my hands slowly traced over every small detail and interactive carving until I found the key I was looking for. This is my time to show somebody what I can do!

"Open gate of the Maiden! Virgo!" I shouted. A white cloud of smoke suddenly appeared, blinding me. The white wisps curled into the surrounding air. Eventually the gas disappeared all together to reveal a young women with shoulder length magenta hair sporting a maid's outfit.

Virgo was my ticket to giving Sting a good impression of me. You better be watching, Sting!

I'm really sorry about the wait!

Again, I was hoping I could make this chapter longer... And a lot more interesting!

I will try to make the next chapter longer and not nearly as boring, I promise! Just bare with me.
