Finally, I have arrived to Ontario...

I observed my surroundings as I took in a deep breath of the sweet, crisp air. Going to Midstream College had always been a dream of mine since Freshmen, I couldn't express how apprehensive I felt to finally have arrive. I excitedly walked to my dorm, weirdly, it was about 15 minutes away from the airport.

"Hello Mrs Storm, welcome to your dorm." Said the assistance.

I gave her a quick smile and grabbed my keys with pride. I felt like I had finally fit it with the intelligent individuals. As she walked off, I dragged my suitcases inside and jumped on my bed immediately.

I was glad to had requested to NOT have a roommate. Having one would have made my moments of solitude close to impossible. Yes, I'm an introvert.

"Hey hey hey!" Said a voice, nearly startling me to death.

I looked up and saw a girl about my age. She has a petite frame and beautiful brown skin.

"Heyyy! You're Alexa right?" She asked with enthusiasm.

"Yes," I replied with a slight smile.

"Well I'm Tamara! Your roommate!"

"Excuse me?" I asked confused.

I'm sure I had requested to NOT have a roommate.

She darted towards me and gave me a huge hug.

"Come on, let's go checkout the campus!" She said excitedly as she dragged me with her.

No solitude for me today, I'm hoping there aren't many people at campus today. Besides, we only start our lessons tomorrow.

I was painfully wrong about the campus being uncrowded. The place was even more crowded than a sold out stadium. We walked passed several people standing by a stall advertising something. I'm not sure what was going on, but it reminded me of the scene in Pitch Perfect.

"So extra curriculums sign ups are being held today! What would you like to participate in?" Tamara asked.

I shrugged. I wasn't planning on joining an extra activities, it's too much excitement, this year my goal is to have a good time and I can't do that if there's too much excitement. Ironic, I know. But high school has taught me that excitement usually leads to trouble.

"You can select from this list, my boyfriend is calling me, I'll be right back." She said as she handed me a list and ran towards her boyfriend.

Let's see...

I scanned the list...

1. Glee
2. Dance
3. Cookery

I immediately stopped scanning. I knew that from the looks of the first three, I wasn't going to find anything that I liked anyways...

As I was scanning the crowd to find Tamara, someone bumped into me.

"Watch where you're going!" He exclaimed.

"I wasn't even walking..." I replied.

"Yeah...well...uhm..." he stuttered sheepishly.

A laugh escaped my lips when I realised how I had put him in such an awkward situation.

"Its not funny..." he said with a chuckle.

"Alexa! Is this your boyfriend!?" Tamara showed up out of nowhere.

"What!? Never!" He replied harshly.

"Bro what's taking you so- oh, hi." Said his friend.

His cute friend...

We smiled as we greeted him.

"I'm Jordon." He replied.

"I'm Tamara and this is Alexa...and who are you?" Tamara asked as she turned to the boy who had bumped into me.

"Max. Well, we've got to go sign up for Lightning Tone club." Max said.

"What's that?" I enquired.

"Its a club, where we participate in a different club every Monday and Thursday." Max explained.

"Hey we'd like to join as well." Tamara replied excitedly.

Before I could protest she had already grabbed my hand and was dragging me to find the stall as to where we could sign up. Max and Jordon followed after us.

"I'm not sure about this, I mean, I was planning on having a good time this year..." I said hesitantly before signing my name on the entry form.

"Come onnnn" Tamara begged.

"Rather not. I dislike being around humans..."

Is what I would've said if someone else hadn't said it before me. We all turned to face a boy, the type of cliche emo boy.

"I'm Jonah." He said as we greeted him back.

"Signnnn itttt!" Tamara begged.

"Hah! Why would you torture yourself like that? You'd rather be riding a motorbike to France." Jonah commented.

"Don't you have any friends?" Max enquired rudely.

"We never really have friends. Jus people we have good memories with," He responded.

"Last 3 spots for Lightning Tone club sign ups!" The girl behind the stall announced.

"Come onnnn!" Tamara pleaded.

"To be honest, none of us have friends." Jonah continued.

"Hey, man, I don't know what you're talking about. Me and Max are the bestest friends in the world." Jordon replied.

"Stop discussing irrelevant topics and sign the form!" Tamara said now losing her patience.

"Let's make a deal. If Jonah signs it, I'll sign it." I said said knowing that there was no way possible for Jonah to agree to that.

"Yeah I'll sign it. Anything to stay away from my house." Jonah said.

I sighed in defeat, I will be forced to be around humans who don't care about me and are discussing pointless things. Call me anti-social.

"Your house? Why don't you jus say "anything to stay away from home"?" Tamara asked as me and Jonah signed the form.

We all started strolling.

"Well, it's not my home. A house is only a home if it has your loved ones there." Jonah replied.

He's so wise.

"Why aren't your loved ones there?" Tamara enquired further.

"They claim the love me, but they aren't even my real parents. Actually, let's just drop this topic."

"You live around here? So you didn't have to get a dorm room? Lucky you." Max said.

"Yeah cool. You guys are pretty cool, mind if I get your numbers?" Jordon asked.

"Yeah sure." We agreed in unison.

"Well I already have your number, Jordon. Unfortunately." Max joked as Jordon rolls his eyes at him.

"Well it was nice meeting you, we'll see you all tomorrow! Come Alexa we have to go prepare for tomorrow!" Tamara shouted as she hugged everyone and dragged me, once again, back to our dorms.

I'm stuck with an energetic girl, a goth/emo boy, a jerk-ish guy, and a cute boy. How is this avoiding excitement? Well, this is not what I planned...
