The drive back was quiet, each stuck in their own head.

Yoongi held the bag close as they walked, nervous, as he stepped back into Jimin's apartment, this time surrounded by noise and people.

It wasn't hard to slip away, to find a place he could hide away for awhile. He found his haven in a little nook he found in the loft, hidden away from view by a curtain, sitting in a flattened beanbag chair.

Too absorbed in his mind, he didn't notice the squeak of the curtain being moved and pulled back into place until a familiar giggle tugged his eyes open.

Park Jimin stood before him holding a plate of cake, beautifully shy smile lifting his cheeks.

"Your party hat's crooked," Yoongi laughed, a small smile playing across his lips.

"Oops," he laughed, reaching up with one hand to fix it. "I thought you might want some cake," he murmured, offering him the plate and a little plastic fork. "Mind if I sit with you?" Stunned, Yoongi could only shake his head, scooting over to make room.

Jimin dropped down beside him with a quiet laugh, bouncing into place beside him and offering a forkful of chocolate cake. Without hesitating, Yoongi took the bite, ignoring the heat in his cheeks and loving the light in Jimin's eyes.

"Why don't you have a piece?" Yoongi asked as he took another.

"This was the last piece," he explained.

"Then we'll share," Yoongi declared, taking the fork and offering him a bite. Jimin took it and burst into laughter when icing smeared across his cheek, curling in on himself with the force of it, and Yoongi watched him with his own gummy grin, watched beautiful, gorgoues Park Jimin make him feel perfectly at home. They'd barely even spoken and the moment was perfect.

When they finally calmed, Jimin leaned back against him and Yoongi held him there, against his chest where he could feel his heart racing. Both of them were terrifyingly content with and beautifully scared of the gentle warmth unfurling in their chests as they lay there unmoving.

The fuzzy ball at the top of Jimin's hat made Yoongi's cheek itch and Jimin could feel his leg starting to cramp but they stayed there, listened to the sounds of people leaving and wondering aloud where the birthday boy had gone off to; stayed there when people called their names and when the stairs creaked with another person leaving; stayed there until Jimin was nearly asleep and someone was tugging open the curtain. They stayed there until Taehyung gently reminded them that there was still presents and they stumbled to their feet with aches and pains but startlingly happy.

Thankfully, Taehyung had enough sense to grab the bag from where Yoongi had left it because no one wanted to move once they'd settled around the dining room table, waiting patiently for Jimin to pick which present to open first.

After lots of begging, he finally picked Taehyung and Jungkook's, which ended up being a brand new Gucci sweater.

"Oh my God, Tae!" Jimin squealed. "How much did this cost!? How could you let him spend this much, Kookie!?" Jungkook gave him a sheepish smile and everyone laughed.

"You deserve it, Jiminie," he insisted. "Now open Yoongi's already. He had to deal with Tae while shopping for it." Suddenly nervous, Yoongi handed him the bag and folded his hands in his lap.

"You know," Hoseok suddenly shouted, "I'm thirsty. Jungkookie and Tae are gonna show me what I'm allowed to have." They all scrambled out of the room, ignoring Yoongi's helpless glare and Jimin's indignant sputtering.

"Guess you should open it," Yoongi muttered, shifting uncomfortably. With one last glance at him, Jimin opened the bag and the way his eyes lit up made the stress of shopping, the anxiety of waiting, absolutely worth it. Jimin turned to him with a bright smile and Yoongi could barely return it-distracted by the way the sight made his pulse stumble.

"I-I uh, have something else to," Yoongi stumbled before the other could speak, not ready for the inevitable wave of gratitude he'd receive. "I'll take you out to eat, if it isn't to late for you." Jimin's jaw dropped and Yoongi couldn't help smirking a little.

"You don't have to do that!"

"Of course I don't have to," Yoongi scolded. "I want to, especially since my other present sucked compared to Taehyung's."

"Your present doesn't suck!" Jimin insisted. "But if you really wanna buy me dinner," he added, unable to resist, "it's not to late. I'm usually up for another hour or so." That was a lie. He'd usually be in bed an hour ago, fast asleep. But this is Yoongi, he told himself. He's worth losing a bit of sleep.

"Great! We should probably leave soon; I don't know when they close."
