“Is he drunk?” Jungkook questioned as he lifted Taehyung's head from his lap so he could stand and placing it back on the couch.
“No,” Yoongi assured, kicking off his shoes, “just very tired. He fell asleep in the car.”
Jungkook laughed. “Knew there was no way he'd last this late.” An offended grumble barely made it past the barrier of Yoongi's chest.
“He made it most of the ride,” Yoongi defended. “Where should I lay him down at?”
“The bedroom under the loft. Hoseok’s in there but he said he's a cuddler, so he should be fine.”
It took some coaxing to get Jimin to let go of him, but once he did, the blonde willingly dropped down onto the mattress, still wrapped in Yoongi’s jacket, barely muttering a quiet “Night, hyung” before his eyes were back to being shut.
“What's Hoseok still doing here?” he murmured as he left the room, mindful of the three sleeping.
“Tae insisted on staying up to see how it went, and Hoseok wanted to know too, so they hung out until Tae passed out. Hoseok was so tired by then that I told him to just take that bed for now.”
Even as he followed Jungkook to the kitchen, Yoongi felt like he was being analyzed, nearly criticized, in every aspect of who he was.
Then, Jungkook was telling him to sit, and Yoongi couldn't help listening, feeling as if he were about to be scolded. He calmed down some when Jungkook sat beside him and his eyes seemed to soften a little.
“Loosen up, Yoongi. I'm not gonna hit you or anything,” he teased. “I just wanna know how tonight went. Tell me about it.”
“It was fun,” Yoongi started, hesitant. “The waitress hit on him, which was bad since it made him uncomfortable.” Yoongi didn't notice the way his own nose scrunched up in distaste at the memory. “We, umm, sort of kissed so that she'd stop flirting. After that, it was nice though. We talked a lot and the food was good. Then he slept on the way home.” He was very aware of the way his cheeks felt hot and if Jungkook's small smirk was any indication, he was blushing like crazy. He suddenly felt the need to hide his head in his hands.
A heavy silence filled the air, while Jungkook was lost in thought and Yoongi was resisting the urge to bang his head on the table.
He should say something. This felt an awful lot like meeting his first girlfriend's mother, and mothers like to talk right? But his vocal chords just wouldn't work. Tongue tied and anxious was not a feeling that Min Yoongi enjoyed.
Suddenly, Jungkook stood and was heading for the half-full coffee pot sitting on the counter, startling Yoongi into reality.
“Do you drink coffee?” Jungkook asked, already pouring some into two mugs.
“Umm, yeah, thanks,” Yoongi muttered, taking the cup that was handed to him. Jungkook gave him a small smile.
“No problem. You can crash here tonight, if you want. I'm sure Jimin won't mind.”
“N-no, thank you. I uhh, should probably leave once I finish this.” Yoongi thinks Jungkook might be trying not to laugh at him.
“Alright, I'll send Hoseok over when he gets up in the morning.”
They sat in silence for a little while as the buzzing energy inside Yoongi started to fade. The coffee in their cups slowly emptied and soon Jungkook was raising from his seat to put his mug in the sink.
“I should go carry Taehyung to bed, I'll be back in just a minute.” Yoongi, who had looked up in tired curiosity when he stood, nodded before going back to staring into his cup, head propped up on a hand.
Putting Taehyung to bed proved more difficult than expected when he refused to let go of Jungkook, trying to drag him into bed, and the task lasted long enough for Yoongi's eyes to droop and his head to start slipping from its perch on his palm.
When Jungkook returned, it was just in time to witness Yoongi jerking his head up to stay awake, only to lay it back down on his hand.
“Dude,” Jungkook laughed, startling Yoongi into an upright position, “just sleep here. Jimin will kill me if I let you walk an entire flight of stairs like this.”
“Fine,” he mumbled, too tired to deny the offer again. “But I'm not sleepin’ in that bed with all of you.”
“I'll get you a blanket and you can sleep on the couch,” Jungkook offered, looking unbelievably proud of himself.
Yoongi murmured his agreement as he stumbled his way to the couch, eyes barely staying open.
He barely waited until Jungkook had disappeared into the room with the others before he let his head sink into the pillow, with barely enough time until he fell asleep to think of the boy currently wrapped up in his jacket.
