David lead me to the Ver'dis'qoe the biggest restaurant on the ship, and also where Jason is taking Cassie to propose. "Um.... I know it was hard to get a reservation, but could we probably go to another restaurant," I asked while leaning into him."Don't worry Jason knows I am here and we will be on a different floor than them, so nothing to worry about," he said confidently. We walk into a multi floor restaurant and was lead to the second floor, our table was so close to the banister that we could see the ground floor.
When the waiter came David ordered us wine, "okay so I know you work as a nurse and that you came from an orphanage, what exactly came in between those periods of time." I thought about it, "I guess college, I went to UIC and got my CNA then went to a nursing college and got my RN. What about you did you ever go to college?" David laughed, "No, there used to be a military recruiter that would visit my high school, told us about protecting your family and friends and hyped up everyone. Next thing I knew my Mom and Dad was seeing me off at the airport." Around this time the waiter arrived with the wine.
"So you work at a security firm," I asked after taking a sip of wine. He smiled,"not exactly, I own part of the security firm with a friend from the military." I was shocked, he owned his own business so soon after leaving the military. "It's nothing that impressive me and my friend had invested a lot of money in stock before we went into the military and it paid off." But it's still a little impressive, in high school I was more focused on making money so I could go to college not investing it. David help me with the menu since I had no clue what half of the stuff was, "so that snail, while this is a high cut steak, and this is chicken stuff with exotic cheese." After ordering David looked down to the ground floor, I followed his line of sight to see Cassie and Jason eating deserts. David called over the waiter, he pulled something out of him pocket.
"Why do you have Cassie engagement ring," I asked when I saw it. "Jason forgot in my room when he was there earlier," David said while shaking his head. The waiter came over, "can yo bring the couple down there Champagne and put this ring in the woman's cup." I stop him, "also be sure to tell the woman that champagne taste better sip." David looked at me with a raised eyebrow, "Cassie has a tendency to gulp down her drinks, so there is a chance she might choke on the ring." David shook his head and chuckled as he handed the ring to the waiter. Even though we agreed it was safe to go back to our date both me and David decided we would rather see how thing played out instead. A few minute after we put the plan into action, Jason began searching his pocket for the ring. "Welp, he's panicking," said David "how can you tell," I asked. "See how his hand is tapping his thigh, that his tell." Just in time the waiter arrived with the champagne, Jason was too worried to notice but Cassie began sipping at it. Then she stopped,"she noticed the ring," I said to David. Cassie took a butter knife and pulled out the ring and let out a cry. Jason notice and went into action instantly, he took the ring from her and got down on one knee. Everyone who could see the table quite so they could hear the answer. "Yes" I heard Cassie answer and a round of applause came over the restaurant. I clapped as I watch my two best friends begin the next stage in their life. The rest of dinner was nice with me and David sharing stories about our experiences with the happy couple. " so you're telling me that because of a children book you two ate worms for a week straight." David shook his head and took another bite from the cake he was eating. "You don't understand it was a really good book, beside I had to do the same thing in the military only with snakes." After David paid we decided to walk the deck and look at the night sky.
