Lexa lays awake on her bed in sweatpants and a black t-shirt after finally putting a restless Sophia down to sleep. Turing and rolling around her cold bed unable to sleep or keep her mind from wondering to a certain someone, she gets out of the bed. Crouching down besides it she reaches under her bed grabbing a hold of a photo album, pulling it out she gets back to her feet.

Staring at it in her hands for just a minute going over if she should open it or not, like she has done many times before until she gives in, Lexa sits on her bed with it. Opening the cover reveling the first two photos staring back at her inside.

The top photo is of a 19 year old Clarke and herself snuggled up on the couch together in there old apartment in the city, they were celebrating Lexas promotion at her families company, when Clarke had gotten sick from the food they'd eaten at a nearby restaurant, Lexa had found Clarke asleep on the couch so she had gotten a blue fluffy blanket from the other couch, draping it over Clarke as she laid down beside her holding her close making sure she was ok staying close to Clarke incase she was in need of medicine or water. They'd spent the whole night like that curled up under the blanket. No words were spoken, they weren't needed. They were just happy to be wrapped up together sharing warmth and soft kisses on foreheads and cheeks until they fell asleep.

Lexa moves her fingers to trace over Clarkes pale face in the picture she shuts her eyes tight sighing thinking of the past and how happy they were. How happy she used to be.

The bottom picture is of herself and Clarke on a beach in California on hoilday for the twos 4 year anniversary at the age of 17, Lexas wealthy family owned a beach house down there so she persuaded her father to allow herself and Clarke to use it for the summer after her fathers consideration he eventually agreed to let them use it. Of course the talk came and why being safe together was so important. But its not like she didnt know about that stuff, herself and Clarke had already been to the drug store the night before purchasing supplies, the two had already discussed and decided that the romantic getaway would be the perfect place for their first time. And so it was.

That summer was one of the best the two had had together, filled with romance, love, passion and fun in the Cali sun.

Looking at the photograph Lexa smiles widely at the memory of them chasing one another on the beach in the sun with the sand between their toes..

FLASHBACK

Lexa and Clarke sit on the sand eating ice creams under the blazing hot sun tanning their skin a beautiful bronze colour.

"Ugh this is the best ice cream ive ever tasted"

"I can tell babe its all over your face" Clarkes giggles

"Is not" Clarke leans over toward Lexa

"Is to" Clarke says getting closer to Lexa whos stopped eating her ice cream but instead galps as Clarke gets closer by the second, feel heat rise in her cheeks.

"Its right..." Clarke moves closer invading Lexas space bringing her ice cream up before it connects hitting Lexas nose "...there"

Clarke breaks out in a fit of giggles "you did not just do that" Lexa responses wiping her face with her hands.

"Oh I did" Clarke replys with a sly smirk

"Right thats it" Lexa throws her ice cream to the sand, making a grab for Clarke but misses giving Clarke time to start running, Lexa taking after her in a sprint, ice creams all but forgotten now melting into the hot golden sand

"Give up babe" Lexa puffs out still chasing Clarke, lungs feeling over worked.

After what feels like forever Lexa finally catches Clarke picking her up throwing her over her shoulder as she carrys Clarke towards the water.
