What Would You Do If...?
We did 1,000 origami cranes together.
Rounding the corner of a hallway, your eye caught something in a room to your side.
Curiously you looked inside and found Agni working on origami figures, but looking closer you saw that all of them were cranes.
“What are you doing here?” You asked as you entered the room.
Agni looked up and smiled kindly at you. “Ah, Sebastian asked me to make 1000 cranes with the Japanese style of origami for the cultural festival in a few days.”
“What?” you blinked in surprise. “Isn't that too much to make in a few days? Shouldn't somebody help you?”
“Actually I find it calming. Prince Soma tried helping himself, but it was obvious he doesn't hold the patients for it. So I was taking my time because I knew you would come. I cherish your quality of helping others when needed.” He held a newly finished crane in his hand to admire it, then put it down to yet again start another one.
You made you way to take a seat next to him and furrowed your eyebrows at all the confusing folds he was doing with the paper. “But I don't know how to make these.”
“I was planning on teaching you,” he chuckled.
After a few trial and errors, you held up your own finished crane. You frowned. It looked crooked and made by a 6-year-old compared to Agni's perfect ones.
You let out a frustrated sigh and put the origami down to cross your arms. “Mine is horrible!”
Agni blinked and shook his head. “It was your first time. I say you did very well! A few more and they will be flawless.”
“I doubt it,” you grumbled.
“Don't be so hard on yourself, I am an imperfect being myself.”
Though that was out of the blue, you felt a sense of serenity. Most people would find your relationship with the Indian strange, and they wouldn't understand why.
