Chapter 10

Lucy's POV
Juvia sat, looking at the doll in her hands.

"How's Gray doing?" Lucy sat beside her friend, looking down at what Gray had become.

"Juvia doesn't think the spell will stop." Juvia sighed as she tucked her beloved into her belt gently.

"We can't give up," I assured her, though I know she wasn't listening to me. Her eyebrows knitted together as worry began to wash over her features.

"Who said anything about giving up? Juvia is more determined than before now that her lover is in danger." Juvia stood with a smile, taking in a deep breath before taking Grays hand and walking off.

"Hey wait!" I called out as Natsu started to follow her, dragging me with him.

"It's too dark to set out into the forest once more... and Juvia isn't entirely sure as to where she would go." Juvia whispered to herself as she looked down at Gray.

"How about the guild?" I questioned sarcastically. She turned away, not wanting to meet my eye.

"If we went back to the guild, they would lock us up again, Lucy... I don't want to hurt them again." I felt Natsus grip on my hand get tighter. I could tell they felt pain, the memory of the guild torn and broken by their hand, it wasn't easy for anyone to remember.

"Juvia doesn't deserve to go back to Fairy Tail," she began, "but she won't let Gray-sama down."

I looked up to find ourselves outside a small inn, turning my gaze to Juvia and Natsu who towered over me.

"We'll stay here." And with that, she walked in.

Natsus POV
Before Natsu could pull me in, I yanked him back, hoping that I was strong enough to do so.

"What up, Lu-Lu?" He crouched down in front of me.

"I wanted to... did you just call me Lu-Lu?" I looked at him, trying not to laugh.

"Well, it suits your little form." I could help but laugh at his genuine smile. Even though he was laced with fear for what was going to happen in the near future, he still tries his best to make me happy.

"You're..." I couldn't help it, my loud, cheerful laughter had started to fall into shattered sobs. My hands moved up to wipe the sudden falling tears in my eyes.

"I can change it, was Luce better? Would you prefer Lucy?" Natsus voice was laced with heart ache and worry.

"N-no, I love it... I love you," I reached up to him. Natsu pulled me into his arms and hoisted me up.

"I love you more than anything... you're the best thing that ever happened to me," I pushed him away gently and smiled, kissing him on the cheek so it didn't look strange to on goers who happened to pass by.

"We better go inside, get you warmed up before you catch a cold." He walked into the inn, the store owner yelling out 'you wife booked room 21' before going back to his drinking.

Natsus POV
Ignoring the comment of Juvia being my wife, I continued to the back, walking into the room.

"Natsu..." I looked up to find Juvia sprawled our onto the floor, her colour fading into a monochrome of black and grey.

"Juvia!" I called out as I made my way over to her, placing Lucy on the bed next to the Gray doll.

"What's happening to her?" Lucy went to come towards us but I shook my head.

"Don't come near her... go hide in the bathroom." I didn't look at her, I knew what was going to happen and I didn't want Lucy around to see it.

"But Natsu," Lucy tried to retaliate, but I wouldn't let her.

"Please Luce... take Gray and wait in the bathroom." I turned back at looked at Juvia as her breathing began to slow down, just like it had before they attacked the guild.
