Marianette watched Chat sprint in the direction of her house, her heart fluttering with each step he took. She couldn't believe both of her the blonde headed men in her life were causing her heart to tumble so much.

That is the exact moment she realized Chat wasn't going to find Marianette in an alley way, because she IS Marianette.

Crap. Crap. Crap. Ladybug swing her Yo Yo to the closest building to lift off, her miraculous beeping in her ear again.

Why didn't I send him in the opposite direction, then I would have time to transform before he got there. And Adrien! What if he sees Adrien in my closet! How and I going to explain to both of them what is going on when I don't even know!

Lady bug swung low so Chat didn't see her trailing behind landing softly in the back alley of the stores across the street. Red flashed, a tingling of one persona to the next. Marianette caught Tikki in her hands.

"Great job Tikki! I have some cookies in my bag for you"

"Go get your boy Mari!" Tikki cheered before settling in Marianette's bag. The bluenette shaking her head running out to the street.

She could see Chat walking along the sidewalk peeking under cars, behind buildings and trash cans, the worried expression on his face clear.

"Chat!" Marianette exclaimed waving him over, she could have watched him all day but knew he needed to transform and didn't want to worry him.

The relief on his face resonated throughout his body, his muscles relaxing as he ran closer. He scooped her up in his arms twirling her around ignoring the high Yelp she gave in surprise. He buried his head in her hair inhaling deeply before setting her back on her feet.

Before she could say anything he set her down, his mouth rushing to hers in an anxious kiss. It took her a minute to respond before he kissed him back.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

"Gotta go Purrincess. See you soon!" He gave her a chaste kiss on the forehead before sprinting down the alley and out of sight.

Marianette giggled, her hand barely touching her lips as she could feel his warmth still tingling in her own. She shivered and the intensity that only one of his kisses brought to her life. Smiling she walked towards the bakery knowing that her lunch hour would be up soon.

She made her way up to her room plopping in her bed back first staring at the ceiling in complete bliss. Chat recently had taken up much of her head space, leaving her floating above the clouds.

A throat cleared.

Marianette sat up abruptly letting reality rush back to her with a bang. Emerald eyes watching her like she was prey, a playful smile on his lips. Her face could have been as red as Nathaniel's hair for all she knew.
She had just been caught daydreaming about another boy in front of her lifelong crush who was still in her room.

"A-Adrien!" She squeaked her blush flushing to her chest. She could feel it creep down making her even more embarrassed. Yep still ready to move.

Adrien chuckled, "Wherever that beautiful head of yours was drifting off too looked like a happy place to be" he walked forward kissing her cheek gently.

"Looks like you made it in one piece. Chloe give you trouble?" He asked with a knocking smile.

Marianette shook her head. No he can't know, "I wouldn't know I made it about ten feet before being turned into a bride"

"Wish I could have seen that" he chuckled grabbing her hand staring at their intertwined fingers.

"Look. Adrien..."

"Will you go to the Halloween dance with me?" Adrien blurted.

"W-what?" Marianette stammered our, somehow still becoming a deeper shade of red.

"The Halloween dance, will you come with me?"

Marianette racked her brain trying to remember if there was a dance, but all that kept swirling around is his invitation. The words that she had been longing to hear for years finally out in the open. It was like Christmas morning- or should have been.

What she once thought would be the highlight of her high school existence was Dulles by the fact that a certain purring cat kept clawing into her thoughts. Her heart beating in answer, Yes. No. Yes. No.

One half of her was curled o the couch in the sun waiting for the warmth of her shabby ally cat, and the other half sang and danced in the rain from her umbrella giving love. She was torn, and it hurt more than she thought imaginable.

Saying yes to one cut off the other. Saying yes to one split her in two. It was the same for her ladybug persona, never becoming one, only two versions of herself.

She stuttered, but no words were coming out. Adrien's face drained just slightly, worry he was trying to keep from his features leaking in like a busted faucet. He looked almost distraught that her answer hadn't come yet.

She took a deep breath, "Sure" she whispered too understanding of what rejection felt like, and more importantly feeling like a liar for thinking no.

Adrien's smile grew, a pang in her heart reminding her of another's smile. "Then I'll pick you up at 8 on Friday!" He practically yelled. He chastely kissed her cheek turning for her trap door showing himself out.

Marianette slammed back on the bed grunting at her situation. How could this be happening. There is no way that she could be catching attention from both men in her life.

I imagined what Adrien said. That's it. No way he's interested. And Chat, he's just being kind. He needed comforting and then felt bad the next day.

"Oh Marianette are you okay?" Tikki asked floating above her head turned upside down from Marianette's point of view.

"Tikki. How could this be happening!" Marianette turned over to lay on her stomach toppling off the bed with an oof. Tikki giggled.

"Well how do you feel?"

Marianette lay on the floor placing her hands under her chin, "I don't know Tikki. I think I should feel amazing that Adrien stuck up for me and that he wants to go to the dance with me, Or feel great that Chat was worried about me, but I don't know what my true feelings are.! I know that I can't just lead them on!"

"Well why don't you spend more time with both of them and then you can figure out what your feelings are! Then whoever you decide you can bring to the Halloween party!" Tikki exclaimed excitedly.

Marianette grumbled sighing heavily through her nose.

Could she do that? Could she be involved with both of them? Technically speaking she wasn't with either of them exclusively....

"I don't know Tikki, that might not be a good idea..."

"I'm not saying be involved with both, just figure out how you feel before you make a decision"

Marianette turned over again on her back letting Tikki rest on her stomach. "It doesn't matter, neither of them probably like me more than a friend. Adrien just felt bad for me, and Chat just needed someone to look after him"

What Marianette didn't see was Tikki roll her eyes on the comment, but let the thought sit with her until she felt like she could believe it. She was a good friend, and that's all she would be whatever they needed her to be.

Her breath slowed, green eyes being the last thing she saw before she slept.
