The doors opened to lights. Streaks of blues, greens, reds and yellows pulsing to the vibrations of the music booming out of the gym. Smoke machines filled the room, seeping out of the doors creating eerie rays of the light reflecting across the dance floor. The bass of the music reverberating through the students chests making their hearts change their beat to keep up. Jack o lanterns lined the rooms corners, the candle light flickering shadows across the painted walls and bats hung low from the ceiling.
Marinette was in love with it all, "How did they do this! Do you see this! Al-alywah! Adrien! Look!" Her face flushed from the liquid in the flask making her limbs feel numb and tongue thick.
Adrien laughed at the sight of flushing Marinette but kept a hand laced through hers to keep her close in the crowd. Alya and Nino laughed feeling a similar kind of buzz.
"Guuurl! This place is amazing! Thank goodness they left Juleka in charge of decorations! She was made for this"
"Luka too" a voice from behind them muttered with a smile.
"Luka!" Marinette threw her arms around his tall frame inhaling his leather scent. She always thought he smelled like coffee houses, leatherback bindings of old books, warm and always welcoming. Like a secret getaway.
"Hey Marinette. Someone is feeling good!" Luka said with a warm smile, hands on Marinette's waist to steady her.
"She's wild like wild life she said" Alya said rolling her eyes.
"Well, I hope you all have fun!" Luka fist bumped Nino and a frowning Adrien.
"Did he have to talk in third person?" Adrien asked having a hard time keeping his voice neutral.
"I think he's dreamy!" Marinette said staring at the spot that Luka broke through the crowd.
"Me too!" Alya said throwing an arm around Marinette's shoulders.
"What?!" Adrien and Nino said together with disapproving dad expressions.
Alya shrugged her shoulders, "What he's hot! Look at him. Plus he plays an instrument"
Aya seeing Adrien open his mouth cut him off by placing a finger over his lips, "Piano doesn't count. Come on Nino I need another drink!"
Alya grabbed Nino's hand moving through the crowd to the snack table that was lined with different color punches.
Adrien crossed his arms huffing out a sound of aggravation. He never thought himself to be extremely jealous person, although the Copycat might disagree, but he had never felt that way about Marinette. Luka was a friend of his, someone who was kind, and he didn't want to be angry with him.
"I think it counts" Marinette said with pouty lips.
Adrien turned to her ocean blue eyes piercing his wandering thoughts, "What was that Mari?"
"I think piano counts. You know as a hotness factor. But you're not hot, you're beautiful"
Adrien couldn't help but feel his face warm and heart jump, no matter how much whiplash his emotions were getting from her words.
Marinette grabbed his hand with a squeeze, "Do you want to dance?"
Adrien chuckled at her sudden change in response but nodded in agreement. Marinette tugged on his hand pulling him to the middle of the dance floor. Maybe she was too drunk to notice, but all eyes were on him and her holding hands, and Adrien felt proud to be at her side.
Once in the middle of the dancing bodies, Marinette started to move with the music. Her hips dipped, swung and swished and Adrien's mouth fell open. He had no idea she was so graceful, but he was loving it.he placed his hands on her hips to keep up with her watching as her eyes fluttered closed to the music.
