Chapter 7
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."~Martin Luther King, Jr.
As soon as I get to the hospital I dart to the room where Cameron's parents were. All I see is two empty beds and a boy sitting next to them crying. I take a deep breath to brace myself. I go in. When I walk in he looks at me, gets up, and hugs the life out of me. He lays his head in the crook of my neck so all I can hear are his muffled sobs.
Hours go by before I realize Cam cried himself to sleep.
"Cam." I whisper. His eyes open a tad.
"Let's go home. I'll stay with you for a while." I say in a gentle voice.
He wakes up and we leave the hospital. We are driving to his house at 3:00 A.M and we are both exhausted. When I pull up to his house, I see his eyes slowly open.
"...Jess... Thank you. I really need you. Don't leave." Cam whispers. Grabbing my hand and kissing it.
"I'm not going anywhere." I say gently creasing his hair.
