"Klaus and I faked the Sun and Moon curse dating back over a thousand years." elijah says "But if there's no curse..." i trail off "There's a curse. Just not that one. The real one's much worse. It's a curse placed on Klaus." he tells me "What are you talking about?" i ask him "Klaus has been trying to break it for the last thousand years. And you are his only hope" he tells me facing me. "What is this curse?" i ask him. "Your phone will not stop its incessant buzzing. Answer it, please." he begs me. he gives me the phone and i answer it, "Stefan… what's wrong? No. No, no, no, no. Ok, I'll be right there." i say and hangs up and looks at elijah. "Klaus went after Jenna. I have to go to her" i tell him. "I'm afraid that wasn't part of today's arrangement" he tells me. "She's my family, Elijah. I have to. I'll be back. You have my word" i tell him. "That doesn't mean anything to me until you live up to it" he tells me. "Thank you" i tell him and take off running to my car.

~flashback England, 1492~

(Elijah and Katerina are outside. She’s running and laughing)

"You have to chase me!" katerina calls. He runs after her but stops. She laughs "You're meant to catch me" she tells him. "But if I catch you, the game will be over" elijah says. "Thank you for entertaining me" she says. "You looked lonely inside, so I took pity on you" he explains while She sits down "Klaus promised to spend the day with me, but he never returned home from the night" she tells him sadly. "Yes, Klaus does not live by any rules but his own" elijah tells her. "He is a very charming man. Hard for anyone to resist, I suppose" she says.

"And yet..." he trails off for her to finish. she sighs "I know not why he courts me. He seems to not care about me at all" she tells him looking up at him. "Many a union has been built on much less" he counters. "Is it wrong to want more?" she asks him. He sits down with her. "Do you have more with Trevor?" he asks her. "Trevor believes that he loves me, but true love is not real unless it's returned. Do you agree?" she asks him. "I do not believe in love, Katerina." he tells her honestly. "That is too sad for me to accept, my lord. Life is too cruel. If we cease to believe in love, why would we want to live?" she asks him. Klaus rejoins them. "What do I interrupt?" klaus asks.

"He's returned" elijah says then looks at Klaus’ shirt where there’s blood on it "Long night" elijah states. "What has happened?" katerina asks concerned. "The wrong villager picked a fight at the tavern" klaus lies to her. She leaves with him. Klaus looks at Elijah with a smile. Katerina looks at Elijah too.

[Salvatore’s house]

(Elena rejoins Jenna in the library)

i run into stefan's house and see jenna crying on the couch. i walk over to her "oh jenna thank god" i say. she backs away from me "no" she says tears streaming down her face. "im so sorry i never ment for any of this to happen" i tell her. she takes a deep breath "when i was little your mother used to tell me bedtime stories.... stories about vampires.... i never thought what she said could be true" jenna tells me. i take a shaky breath "its true jenna.... i should have told you.... i thought that if you didn't know you'd be safe... but then things got so out of control and everything that i'd done to keep you out of it, blew up in my face" i tell her my voice breaking at the end.

"who else knows.... jeremy" she asks. i nod hesitantly. "layla" she asks voice breaking. i sigh "she just found out but everyone else we were just trying to protect you" i tell her. "protect me" she says voice cracking. "im so sorry.... i will tell you everything" i tell her voice wavering. she looks up at me with watery eyes "no elena....i am the one who is supposed to be protecting you, layla and jeremy" she says distressed. "i know but theres nothing that you could have done.... theres so much more to it" i tell her grabbing her hands.
