"Aaliyah?" she sniffles out.

"You."

~~~
"Hi baby girl," the woman says starting to cry even more.
"What the hell do you want?" I say feeling myself starting to get angry.
"Is it really you LiyBug?" she says putting her hand on my face.
I quickly hit her hand away from me and shoot up from the table.
"Don't call me that," I say sternly as tears start to burn my eyes.
"But... but...you're my LiyBug. I always used to call you that. You're my dau-"
"SHUT UP! I am not your daughter and you are not my mother. You never will be. NEVER. Got it?!" I say grabbing my purse and storming out of the restaurant.
I can hear her walking behind me so I start to run even faster out of the Outback doors. I take my phone out of purse and quickly text James to come and get me. Once I send the message I feel a tap on my shoulder, but I don't want to turn around because I know exactly who it is.
"What do you want?" I ask quietly.
"To talk to you. I know you are still mad at me for I did to you. But you have to let me explain. I know that you probably won't even believe me, but can you at least try? Yes, I left you with Damion. Yes, he was abusing you. But you have to let me say my side of the story?"
I wait for her to finish because I know if I cut her off she'll start to scream over me to get her point across. She always did that.
"No. I refuse to listen to you. I don't care what excuses you have. You left me with him. You didn't care. How could you leave you daughter with the worst fucking man on the planet. Do you even know what he did to me? He beat me, he held me hostage, he hired someone to fucking kidnap me. And where were you? I don't know. Probably out drinking and getting high like you always used to—" I'm cut of by a stinging sensation on my cheek.
Did this bitch just slap me?
The stinging in cheek causes me to cry even more. I slowly step back and lift my head back up. I don't why but I don't have the strength to fight back. I feel numb.
"Don't you dare talk to me that way! At the end of the day I'm still your mother! And Aaliyah you're gonna want to know my side of the story. It's just who you are. You were always a curious little girl. When you wanted to explore something you did. Nothing could hold you back-"
"Except my abusive ass father," I cut her off.
"Fine except your abusive ass father. But you can't let him hold you back anymore. I was tired of letting him control my life," she says stepping toward me. "But here take this," she says handing me a sheet of paper with a number on it. I'm guess hers. "When you want to actually listen give me a call."
"No need," I say shooing the paper away from me. "I won't need it. I don't need you. For the past 14 years, I haven't needed you. Just because you are here now doesn't mean anything. I will always have this hatred for you. I hate you. More than dad. I hate you more than anyone or anything," I say walking up to James's car as he pulls up.
Since Outback is like five minutes away from our apartment it makes sense how he got here so quick. When James gets out of the car he starts walking toward Kenzie, Micah, and Kayla who I didn't even notice were outside.
"Even though you hate me Aaliyah, I will always love you."
That statement right there made my blood boil even more. This woman does NOT love me. How dare she claim to love me when she abandoned me.
