Stella's POV-

I woke up feeling ill, my nerves making my stomach turn. I quickly washed and threw on a simple but nice outfit. Today was the day I would see Jackson for the first time since New Years and I am beyond nervous. "Stella! Are you ready?" Mark called from the lounge room. I slipped on my shoes and hurried out to him waiting at the door.
"Thanks for being my driver" I say, trying to hide my shaky hands but without luck. Mark grabs my hand and frowns before leading me to the car. I hopped in the passenger side, sending Mark a smile to reassure him that I'm alright.

We drove to the cafe and Mark opened my door for me. People often mistook us as a couple, but that was not the case. Mark actually likes Cath, and she likes him back but neither know, ahh it's so obvious how do they not see!
"Stella? You coming?" Mark says, snapping me out of my thoughts. I quickly nod and head in the cafe door he held open for me.

We walked over to a table in the corner by a large window where someone sat, their face obscured by their hair and hat as they looked out the window. They turned as Mark called their name, revealing it to be Jackson. My breath hitched in my throat as I recognised the boy in front of me to be the one I only remember in photos.
"Hi Stella, it's lovely to see you again" He smiles and I swear my heart stops.
"O-oh h-hey. It's n-nice to see you again too" I stutter and my face flushes red. Jackson smiles again as Mark squeezes my shoulder, giving me a reassuring nod before saying goodbye to both of us. I smile at Jackson and sit down as a waitress brings two hot chocolates. We thank her and I take a sip, it's so good!
"How'd you know I liked hot Chocolate?" I ask him, finally gaining some confidence.
"Mark told me, I kinda wanted to impress you today" he said quietly, scratching the back of his neck.
"Well it's working so far" I said with a grin, ok maybe I've got too much confidence now.

Jackson's POV-

Holy shit. Her smile is the most incredible thing I've ever seen in my life and that may be an understatement. I smiled back at her, relaxing over how well things were going.
"You look really nice today" I said placing my head on my chin and looking at her. She said a shy thank you as she turned away, a bright red colour spreading over her cheeks. We soon finished our drinks and I paid before opening the door for her.
"Ready for some fun?" I asked and she nodded, smiling at me.
We walked in comfortable silence before reaching the bus stop, waiting for the next bus to arrive. We made small talk on the bus and as the carnival came into view, her face lit up.
"I haven't been here in years!" She smiled as I dragged her off the bus and grabbed two tickets.
