December 2017

Stella's POV-

"I don't know why, but there's something I like about New Years" I said to my best friend Catherine, who was seated at the desk to my right, scribbling down party plans in her notebook.
"Hmm maybe it symbolises something, new beginnings or some shit like that."
I laughed and nodded, Cath's probably right. Only a month to go until we slip into 2018, and all everyone could talk about was the biggest party of the year.
Cath slipped her notebook into her bag as the bell rang, signalling the end of class.
Mark caught up to us outside, walking with us to our usual table. Hard to believe him and I have been friends for 8 years and he still hasn't stopped growing.

"STELLA!!"
Mark snapped me out of my thoughts, I turned to see him running down the street, his long limbs flailing around.
"You coming to dance practice?" He asked, a smirk plastered on his face.
"Of course" I replied, still puzzled about the mischievous look on his face, almost as if he was scheming something.
I watched him dance for hours, letting out all of his built up stress from exams, and afterwards he laid panting on the floor.
"One more time?" I suggested, nudging Mark with my foot.
"Sure, record it so I don't forget anything over the break"
He ran through the dance once more, and afterwards said goodbye to me before walking home.
Finally, time to relax.
