CHAPTER 1 --- the beginning

LIBBY'S POV

Hi my name is Liberty but I like Libby best I'm a 14 year old girl who likes people around me.

it was just me and my friend Emily in the house alone as my mom went to get some snacks for us and my dad he was at work as usual! we were watching The Simpsons when a newsflash appears on the screen talking about rotten corpses roaming around and eating the living. me and Em looked at each other in shock for a while until I realized what was happening! I screamed making Em look at me and quit out of her day dream.

"what is it are you ok" she shouted I had to tell her to get all the knifes she could find and get canned food and some crisps drinks and anything that would come in useful. we ran our separate ways along the house until I found my little brother Jake as one of those.......things. I started to cry and cry but Emily told me we have to be strong if were gonna survive this.

so we held our head high killing all walkers that got in our way. we were trying to find shelter but I still think we should of stayed in the house!

finally we found a little white cabin, which we decided to stay in for the night but woke up to moans from walkers. I decided to have a peek outside and saw about 13 of them. too many for just me to take them out, so I went and got Em put of bed and we snuck out the back in time without being caught so we got lucky.

*8months later*

were running and running away from a herd when we come to a sudden stop in shock of what we have just found! "SOMEONE OPEN THE GATE PLEASE IS THERE ANYONE THERE!" I yelled at the top of my voice. then suddenly an aisen came running out with a gun and opens the gates.

"thank you so much is there anythi-" Emily said but she was cutt of with shouting! " PUT YOU HANDS UP AND DROP YOUR WEAPONS NOW!!!" a man came running down to is with a gun pointed at us.

I closed my eyes and counted hoping this would be a dream but it wasn't all I could do is Neal on the floor and cry. then suddenly it all went black was I shot? or did I just pass out?

EMILY'S POV

I can't believe this is happening we didn't do anything so why was they doing this? I started to get worried and scared and started breathing heavily. But I think that noticed and then I almost forgot a gun was pointed at me and looked in front. Panicking even more than before now I slowly stand up and say "I'm sorry if we intruded your place but we were in great danger a herd it almost got h-her, all we are asking is to stay a night and then we will go as soon as possible I promise" I said shakily!

"welcome to family" the mam said with a grin on his face it was a bit creepy though.

LIBBY'S POV

*1week later*

"hey , hey wake up " I was woken up by someone but I couldn't work put who, was it Em? Nah she would never wake me up! so I turned around to see who it was and it was the most hottest boy I've ever met in my whole entire life! " hey I dont believe we have met before have we?" I whispered " oh hi my name is Carl Grimes and no we haven't but I haven't really seen and kids my age since the whole world ended so I was wondering I would really like to get to know you, maybe be friends?" he replied I just nodded as I had butterfly's in my stomach. it always happens when I see a boy I like.

I ran into the cafeteria and I sat next to Carl and Em and ate my food. not long after I went up into the guard tower were Carl told me to meet him! as soon as I got up there he started asking g questions and not just a couple like loads!

"Firstly what's your name, How old are you, How big was the herd? and

How have you survived so long?" he said cautiously so I replied with "My name is Liberty but I like Libby better, I'm 14 years old , the herd was massive you don't know how scared I was and lastly I survived this long because I didn't think of bad things and thought of the good plus I had Emily with me.". I replied shyly

he just giggled and so did I! then we decided to go to bed as it was almost midnight! and I just kept smiling and still laughing for no reason at all!

I then woke up and Emily was smiling at me which was really creeping me out but she gave me a look that was saying our cell now! so I did as told and we had a girlie chat.

" someone has a crush" she whispered excitedly and I just blushed for a moment and then began to speak "OK OK I kind of have a mini crush on Carl" so she had too reply with "whhoo" which made rick, daryl ,carol and Glenn come rushing in with a confused face on but I gave Em a look to say don't tell please. so she just said "it was us with our girly talk sorry " they all walked off happily

now every night I go up to the guard tower to meet Carl and we have became very close friends. I am finally happy with friends and people that I trust and that I can call family!

CARL'S POV

I really like her I've kinda got a crush on her!

I go I'm to the cafeteria and Emily whispers "meet me in guard tower in 5 mins" I nod yes. finally I got up there she starts talking straight away and says " Libby told me she really likes you and the way you smile whenever she enters the room is really sweet, I know you like her just ask her out tomorrow night if you like her. oh and I know you have a crush on her as you have been talking to yourself about her!" I just nod and walked away as I'm almost speechless !

its now the day to pick up the courage to ask Libby to be my girlfriend! Will she say yes? or maybe she might say no! so now I'm walking towards her and smiling I hold her and and say "Liberty bishop will you be my girlfriend " she just smiles and nods her head and we just big like we're holding on for our lives but we get pulled apart by Daryl he just smirks and raises his eyebrow which made me and Libby giggle a bit!

LIBBY'S POV

I can't believe what just happens my dream has came true . Carl is my boyfriend and he hugged me until Daryl pulled us apart making us giggle a bit! I run over to Emily and ask if I can sleep in Carl's cell she obviously said yes which made me even more happier! so I quickly skipped over to Carl's cell and popped my stuff down on the ground and smirking at Carl. I was so tired! so I lay down on the top bunk and went straight to sleep.

I woke up this morning with hands around my waist and I try to get out thinking I was taken but I wasn't it was Carl squeezing the life of me! I quickly told him we have work to do so me and him hot dressed and walked out the cell. As soon as we turned to face everybody ,they all smirked and Carl shouted"what is so funny' then Rick blurted out "you two were so cosy last night" my cheeks went red and I looked at the ground and went into Carl's cell still embarrassed!

Just then Carl walks in and says..,...........
