20- The real world

Chapter 20

LIBBY'S POV
I slowly awoken once again, I expected to see the bright, blinding, light, but the light hadn't returned, instead I awoken to a dull grey ceiling of some kind of cell. I slowly looked around before sitting up and staring at my leg. it took a while for me to realise what was missing. "MY LEG!!" I screamed in shock, what happened? Where's my leg? It.... it was gone!

"Shh shh Lib be quiet. it's okay" I heard a quiet voice say. my head turned to the boy sitting next to me. I quickly backed away from him, in case he was a danger "w..who are you?" My voice came out quiet and crackly "don't you remember me?" I felt bad for him, I've never seen him in my whole life.

My eyes moved to a oldish man who had just walked into the cell door "don't worry, she has lost her memory, she won't remember a thing. it will soon come back, if you take her back to all the events in her life." I watched as the boy nodded "and Carl, get some sleep" Carl? I've heard that name before.

Carl stood up and carried me in his arms which I found pretty romantic but like my mother always says you should never fall in love with someone you don't even know. I rested my head on his shoulder looking around as he showed me around the place

"this is our cell" I slowly lifted my head to look at him "we share a cell? Why is there baby things here?" I heard him sigh sadly a little before saying "we had a baby" I gulped and looked at him "how about my mom. where is she?" I looked around looking for the one special person in my life "sh...she died. she got bit, you was there with her." I laughed a little at the fact of someone biting her "no come on tell me the truth, you can't die if someone bites you, like if I bite you now, you wouldn't die" I watched as his sad expression changed to a blank one "no, no you don't understand, about 3 years ago there was an outbreak, people wasn't people they were the dead, they were zombies, they bite you, if you can help it you won't turn into one of those and die but if you can't then the worst happens. that's what happens to your mother, there's only one way to kill these things. you have to destroy the brain. if you don't kill these things then you die. I will teach you how to use a gun and knife again, and if your lucky Daryl will teach you how to use a crossbow"
"Who's daryl" Carl chuckled a little at my question which made me feel a little embarrassed "lets just say he's your farther"

I slowly nodded my head before looking towards the cell door to see a brunette holding a small baby boy in her arms "who's this?" I looked from Carl to the lady and then back to Carl as he began to speak "this is maggie and Mason, Mason is our son" I slowly nodded and smiled a little "and do I know maggie?" I watched as she laughed and nodded "we are very close, so are you and my sister, Beth. she's the blonde one, she's the one who likes daryl" I slowly nodded my head with a small smirk

"well I see my dad has already got a secret admirer" I watched as maggie laughed then whispered "no. she's liked him for a while now but shh don't tell anyone" I giggled and slowly nodded my head.

I slowly turned my head to look at Carl who seemed to be smiling. "what you smiling about, stranger?" I giggled a little at him as he looked at me "your giggle, I missed it, I've missed you" I smiled a little and giggled again. was I being too flirty? I really liked him. "so are we together or something, like in love?" He slowly chuckled and nodded "yes we are" I smiled brightly and danced a little in his arms "yay, I'm so lucky" I heard maggie and Carl laugh a little before maggie walked away and the old man came back "so what's his name"
"K his name is Jay K. he's your uncle"
I slowly nodded and waved to him.
"I have a metal leg for you lib but I will only give it you when you have your memory back." i slowly nodded in agreement "thank you." I turned to look at Carl and asked him "so my name is lib" he chuckled and shook his head "no, it's Liberty but you like to be called Libby best so we call you Lib for short" I slowly nodded and giggled flirtingly again.

The next day Carl took me outside to see 'The Real World' but it wasn't as how I had expected. I looked around in shock as rotten corpses banged on the fences of the prison "can they get in"
"No, we are pretty safe in here" I slowly nodded my head and smiled. "Welcome to 'The New World'" I heard him whisper.

"Can I hold Mason?" He slowly nodded his head and took me to maggie who then gave me the beautiful baby boy. I smiled as I looked into his big blue eyes. I watched as the baby looked back into mine, making me realise how much he looked like both me and Carl. "so I'm a mother?" I watched as both maggie and Carl nodded their heads together.

I quickly nodded and looked back into the baby's eyes, and in almost an instant my life flashed before me, I slowly began to remember everything. "I got bit, was in a coma for a few weeks, my mom died, she killed my real dad, so I call daryl my dad, I'm deeply in love with Carl"

I watched as they both had a smile on their faces "you remembered!!" I slowly nodded and looked back down to Mason "thanks to my gorgeous son" finally I could remember everything, now all I gotta do is learn how to walk in a metal leg. the adventure starts now...
