Percy's eyes snapped open, and he sat upright. There were several sirens and people walking around. A woman with a kind face was kneeling before him.

"Hey, it's alright. Just relax. You've been in a tough spot, but we're going to take you to the hospital and clean you up, okay?"

Percy scrambled back from her.

"N-no thanks, I'm fine," he slurred.

She pressed her hand onto his shoulder, gently forcing him back down. "No, you're not. We just need to get you cleaned up."

He pushed her hand off of him and stood up quickly. The world swayed.

"I'm f-fine, actually. So thanks, but I'm good."

She gave him a sad look. Behind her, Annabeth woke up and stared at him.

"Percy?" She asked hesitantly, still taking in everything that was happening.

He ran over to her and hugged her. "Annabeth. Are you okay?"

"I think so. Everyone else?" She muttered into his shirt. He let go.

"Still unconscious. Hopefully they wake up soon, because we got a bunch of people on us. They want to take us to a hospital."

Her eyes widen. "They can't!"

He hushed her. "I know. Just get up, act like everything's fine."

They slowly stood up. Frank and Leo had both woken up now, and were staring bewildered at the medics that were around them. When Frank spotted Percy and Annabeth, he pushed the insistent medics off him and stood up.

Someone tapped Percy's shoulder and he whirled around. Annabeth grabbed his hand. A cop stood there.

"Look guys, we really need to get you to the hospital. You aren't looking too good."

Annabeth shook her head. "We're good."

The cop sighed in annoyance. "We at least need to brief you."

Percy glanced behind him, where Jason was beginning to stir. He sat up, bemused. Percy caught his eye and nodded, sweeping his eyes across the scene. Jason also nodded. He scrambled up and picked up Piper's unconcious form.

"Um, no, you don't really." Percy said.

The cop rolled his eyes. "Yes, we do."

Jason sidled over to Frank and whispered something to him. Frank nodded and pushed his way through to Hazel. He picked her up, then grabbed the back of Leo's shirt and pulled him along. They all made their way back to Percy and Annabeth.

"No, it's actually fine. See, we really need to go." Annabeth said.

A strong wind blew through the street and kicked unsuspecting people down. Frank transformed into an eagle and took off, carrying Hazel and Leo. Jason also took off carrying Piper. Annabeth shot a panicked look at Percy. He raises three fingers, then slowly put them down.

Three.

Two.

One.

A massive tidal wave pushed through the street, sweeping them both away. When the water cleared, everything was exactly as it was before. The only difference was that the seven had gone.

The demigods all landed on a rooftop several miles from where they woke up. Leo broke the ice in his usual manner.

"Well, that was exciting. Anybody know where we are?"

Curious glances were cast around the group, only to be met by the shaking of heads. Annabeth sighed.

"So were in the middle of who-knows-where, mildly injured, exhausted, and Gaea just promised to unleash the wrath of everything upon us."

Percy nods. "That pretty much sums it all up."

Jason looked around the sky. "Guys.... this is weird. I mean... I get that Olympus has fallen and that the gods no longer are in power.... but why hasn't Gaea taken over completely? I feel empty, but not quite. My power is still there."

Hazels eyes suddenly flew open. "What? Where?" She gasped. Frank pulled her closer.

"It's okay. We're all okay. Are you good?" He murmered.

She nodded and Frank set her down.

"What's going on? Where are we?" She asked.

"We don't know. And we don't know." Percy replied. Leo clapped his hands together.

"My favorite kind of quest! So, say we split up a bit maybe? Few find out where we are, few find some food, few find a place to crash for a while?" He asked energetically, his bright grin coming back.

Annabeth glanced at the ground, far below them.

"I don't know about that. I think walking on earth should be off-limits again until we figure out what's going on. And also, do we really want to split up already? We don't even have Piper yet."

Jason looked down to Piper. "How about I'll take Pipes with me and try and get into this building. Maybe we can spend the night in there. Maybe Frank and Hazel can go find out where we are and Leo can get some food and cook it up."

Percy pulled out riptide. "Annabeth and I will watch the area for any suspicious activity." Annabeth nodded and pulled out her sword, then she and Percy walked to the edge of the roof and looked out over the city. Frank transformed into an eagle again and picked up Hazel and Leo. Jason gently set Piper down and commenced with breaking the lock on the door.

As Percy and Anmabeth stood over the city, their hands somehow found their way into each other. Percy grinned.

"What're you thinking about, Seaweed brain?" Annabeth asked teasingly. Percy let out a light laugh.

"That even through all this, I still have my wise girl. We may have failed, Olympus might've fallen, but we still have each other." He said quietly. Annabeth stared into his sea-green eyes and sighed softly. Then, leaning forward, she said, "You'll always have me." Their lips touched for a brief moment, then Annabeth pulled away. The setting sun reflected in her gray eyes, she cuddled up to Percy as they stood together.

Behind them, Jason let out a cry of triumph as the door flew open. He gently picked up Piper and walked slowly down the dark stairs. He squinted into the darkness, trying to make anything out when he felt Piper stir in his arms.

"Hey, Pipes."

"J-Jason? Where are we? I can't see!" She said quickly. Jason gripped her a little tighter, hoping to reassure her.

"It's alright. We're just in a building. I'm looking for a light."

She pushed herself out of his arms and grabbed his hand. "I'll help." Slowly, the couple moved their hands up and down the wall.

"Got it." Piper whispered. A moment later, light blazed through the room. It had carpet floors and no windows, only the stairs leading outside and a door on the far end of the room.

Jason squeezed her hand. "Nice job. You feeling okay?"

She nodded. "I think so. It's-it's just...." She but her lip and looked down. Jason pulled her in front of him and cupped her face in his hands, raising her face to his. Their eyes locked.

"What is it?" He asked softly.

"I'm scared. I don't know what's going to happen to us, or what's happened to anyone." She said sadly. Jason pulled her into a tight hug.

"It's alright. We can get out of this. Us heroes, we're pretty darn tough."
