"Doctor," Cas asked quietly, "I'm not sure I understand what the point of this was?"

The Doctor lifted a hand to silence him. They were pressed against the wall of an alley, breathless after running from the house.

"Well, you see, I know that fellow up there. And where there's one, there's normally quite a few more hiding around. The problem is that I can't find out where they are and it will be quite difficult to." The Doctor explained.

Cas frowned. "Why run, then? The others may have been able to help you."

The Doctor straightened off the wall and cleared his throat, taking a moment to answer by straightening his tie and dusting off his coat. When he finished, Cas was still looking at him expectantly. He sighed.

"These things... the way they hide, its difficult."

"How so?" Cas asked.

"They steal peoples bodies, I could say. Not literally, but they take someone else's appearance and wear it as a coat. The actual person is lying dead somewhere, so as to not interfere."

Cas's eyes widened. "That means that anyone there at the house could actually be dead and already have been replaced by a coat-wearing monster."

The Doctor nodded. "Exactly. They came for me, I know they did. I get the feeling that if we go back, they will attack me before I get the chance to even explain what's happening. Besides, do you know how difficult that will be?" The Doctor waved his hands around in the air mockingly. "Oh, yeah, so some of your friends are dead, and I have no clue who, so can you immediately all be suspicious of each other till we find the body or the alien comes out?"

Cas made no remark to the sarcastic comment, instead letting The Doctor rave. When he was done, Cas merely asked, "Alien?"

The Doctor nodded. "Yep. Nasty guys called the Slitheen. Ran into them once before, managed to stop them, but not before they killed quite a few people."

Cas started walking down the alley, checking the street carefully before exiting. As the two men strode down the street, the spoke quietly to one another.

"How did you stop them last time? Surely we could do it again." Cas muttered.

"It involved blowing up a building and then shrinking one back down into an egg, I highly doubt I could pull that off twice. Besides, when I did it, I was different. All big ears and leather jackets, he had all the luck."

Cas frowned confusedly at him. "I'm not sure I understand. Is it important to what is happening?"

The Doctor shook head. "Nah, just reminiscing. I do that, try not to though. Right, it appears we need a plan. My guess is that at least one person at that house is dead, and we need to find out who before they find us."

Cas looked around cautiously, as if expecting a dead person to explode out of nowhere. When none did, he turned back to The Doctor. "I do not know. Dean and Sam are still alive, I can tell you that. The others, I do not know well enough to tell."

"Well, two down. That's a start, at least. Normally these bad boys will try to get in a position of power, and well, they're rather gassy, to be honest."

"Gassy?" Cas wasn't sure he heard hat right, but the Doctor chuckled slightly.

"Yep. Disgusting, especially when they do it during my saving the world speech, and then don't have enough manners to apologize or even stop themselves from laughing. How rude of them, am I right? But anyway, we really do need to locate that slitheen. I know you haven't know anybody hre long, but did you notice any odd behavior before we bolted?"
