“everything you can imagine is real.”
» pablo picasso"WOULD you like us to add this to your suitcase as well, Ocean?" Alice asked me, holding up some random garments of clothing. I nodded in response, still not believing that I am moving into the Big Apple. It has always been a huge dream for me to explore the streets of New York and actually go there. Based on the pictures I've seen, it's quite the city. Apparently, it's the 'concrete jungle where dreams are made of'. Maybe I'll finally find that dream I've been looking for. Something I want to pursue.
Excitement was flooding through my body, nourishing it in the most relaxing way.
It felt really good to finally know what's going to happen to me.
Maybe I'll find a cafe or a chic store down at Fifth Avenue, and maybe just maybe, myself.
"Your agent will meet you on the flight."
"Agent?" I'm pretty sure my eyes popped out of my head. Holy crap. I was getting more publicity than I thought I would and I know I'm supposed to be frightened; I'm actually surprised. I heard fame is like a messed up version of High School with paparazzi, rumors, interviews, premieres, and all that fame shit. But honestly, I don't think anything tops High School.
"Yes! You will need one because you're still under 18. She's kind of like a parent; but for business only."
"Oh." Parent.
"Sorry." a blush of roses formed on her cheeks.
I shook my head, signaling that it was fine and she didn't have to be sorry. She didn't do anything wrong. Why should she apologize over nothing?
"You're going to be there. With Harry."
"Uh." I sighed.
"You know, you won't be able to ignore him some more. These past 2 weeks were an exception only because you didn't have any interviews or anything like that. You'll probably be stuck with him in many situations. So the only thing you can really do is just be friends."
"Um. How'd you know I was ignoring him...?" I asked awkwardly.
"Honey, we maids know all the top gossip. Like the fact that you kissed him in the hallways! Marie was blushing like hell when she told us she spotted you whilst she was mopping that same hallway." she giggled.
Oh god that memory is going to haunt me now isn't it?
"Oh um you're right I guess."
She gave me an uneasy smile before zipping up my last suitcase.
"I'm taking this downstairs. You can stay here for 5 minutes but no later." she dragged my two suitcases and duffel bag.
I looked around. Although I've been here for a little over a month, I was ready to go out the door. A part of me is going to miss this place, but honestly, it sucked like hell.
“Are you ready?” some random man asked me. I didn’t really know what his purpose was to be honest. Is he like a bellman or something?
I nodded.
He started putting the bags in the black van while I sat alone in the window seat of the van. I could hear a conversation, so being the nosey little brat I was, I turned my head to watch them from the car window.
Harry laughed.
“Haha, see you mate,” he smiled at the man that put my bag and gave him a bro-hug. A strong scent of cologne filled the van as he slid onto the other window seat.
“Good morning,” he greeted me.
I ignored him and looked out the window, pretending to be interested at the cars near me. He let out a sigh of annoyance in response.
Is this how the entire flight going to be? Oh my goodness. I just hope I can sleep through most of the airplane just to avoid any unnecessary contact with him. I decided to mentally plan out my life in the Big Apple.
Change, change, change. Experience life a little. Take risks.
Ha. Easier said than done.
