HAVE YOU ever wondered if you would ever experience true happiness?

I have.

I have doubted it; I have viewed the term of happiness as nothing but a fictional emotion. A feeling that many spend their entire lives looking for; in alcohol, in drugs, in sex, in money, and it seems, the harder you try, the less likely you experience it. I began to wonder and wonder why anyone ever clapped their hands and stomped their feet and yelled 'Hooray!' to the Happy song. I began to wonder why the world still acknowledged the emotion of happiness when sometimes, it feels as if it doesn't exist even exist.

But it does.

It exists it exists it exists and I have never been so sure of something.

"Do you like your coffee with milk?" Harry asked me from across the counter.

I nodded in reply, watching him pour the black liquid into a mug, mixing in the milk shortly afterwards.

"You're lucky. You experience the best breakfast from the greatest man ever,"

"Don't flatter yourself."

But the food really was good. Infact, it was great. He grabbed his mug and sat on the stool next to me. "You're going to be in so much trouble," he told me.

"Hm? Why?"

"That manager of yours is going to lose her shit."

"She wanted me to go anyways. But I probably should have taken her home. Yet again, would I be a bitch if I said she deserves it? I mean c'mon. Instead of letting me walk around the city, she forced me to go to a party." I rolled my eyes.

"If you want to avoid her, we can go explore the city?" Harry took a sip of his coffee.

"Um, sure. That'd be great, actually. Am I supposed to go check on her? Because I honestly could care less."

He laughed, making me smile.

"I'll come with you, don't worry."

I stood up and slipped on my shoes, and he did the same.

-------

"Why the hell did you do that? I came back with a messed up headache and I was so worried about you!" Elizabeth scolded me.

"You told her to go to that party and ended up locking her out of her own apartment." Harry brought up, making a point.

Elizabeth sighed.

"So what is it you want?"

"I want to go explore the city." I answered.

Another sigh.

"Fine. Don't forget your phone and credit card because the last thing I want to do is pick you up from jail. Also, don't do anything bad in public. You will be having a close eye on you and I wouldn't want to be stuck fixing your mess. If I call you, you must answer ASAP."

"We are taking a walk, not robbing a bank."

"Shush." Elizabeth snapped at him. Someone had anger issues.

I darted upstairs to my room, looking for anything that'd look decent. I settled for a high-waisted skirt, and a tucked in white blouse. I brushed my hair out completely, before pulling it up into a ponytail. It was a bit bumpy, and the ponytail was more to the right side of my head, but I couldn't be bothered. I settled on a bit of mascara, not in the mood to wipe up my face later.

"Ready?" Harry asked whilst I walked towards him and Elizabeth on the couch. I nodded yes, and we left the apartment. I had to admit, suddenly spending time with him was a bit weird, but if we were to make this friendship work, we might as well hang out.

"Oh my god! It's Fifth Avenue!"

"Calm down. I don't think I've ever seen you more excited in your life."

"Hush. Oh my god!"

"You've said that phrase about a billion times,"

"No! I mean there's going to be tours around the city!" I pointed at the man wearing a cardboard poster-like outfit, advertising the tour.

"Why pay for a tour when we can gain the benefits of exercise and tour ourselves for free?"

"I'm not going to walk halfway across the city,"

"Fine."

We walked to the man, and Harry paid for the tickets.

"We have to be here in an hour and a half. Are you hungry?"

"Starving."

"Let's go pick up some lunch while we wait." Harry suggested, and I followed him into a small grill nearby. The waiting line was a bit long, but after 10 minutes, we were finally placed into our tables.

"Hello, my name is- oh my god do I know you?" the teenage waitress' eyes widened at the sight of me and Harry.

"We came here yesterday," Harry lied through his teeth, faking an American accent.

"You're Harry and Ocean!" she burst with realization.

"My name is... Jake."

"Are- are you sure? Because you two look exactly like... sorry I'll get back to work. I'm Vera, and I will be your waitress. Would you like to know the specials today?"

"Yeah, man, like, totally!" Harry continued faking his accent.

"Grilled chicken cooked with a creamy sauce in it."

"Yum... I'll have that."

I crinkled my nose.

"I'll have the stuffed mushrooms." I decided.

"Any drinks?"

"Two diet-cokes... right?" he looked at me, questionably.

I nodded.

After eating our delicious meal, we paid and left the restaurant. "We've got 5 minutes to go. Let's hurry,"

I nodded, and run-walked to the place the man told us to wait at. I could see the man, but I wasn't the runner.

Snap.

A flash.
