One Shots

Storms~(MarkHyuck)

Donghyuck woke up to a loud clap of thunder and had to put a hand on his chest until his heartbeat slowed down. He sat up and got out of bed to walk over to the window. He made sure to make as little noise as possible so he didn't wake up Jaehyun. He quietly peeked through the blinds to see that it was pouring rain. He sighed and crawled back into bed. Just as he got comfortable he saw a flash of lightning and braced himself for the thunder. The thunder never came so he uncovered his ears and tried to get comfortable so he could sleep again. Just as he got comfortable a flash of lightning appeared again. He didn't have time to cover his ears before a loud clap of thunder sounded. He closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down again so he could hopefully sleep through the rest of the storm. 

He got comfortable once again and tried to think of calming things but sadly he was still to shaken up. He curled up into a ball and tried once again to sleep and finally after a couple of minutes he was drifting off. Just as he was about to fall into a blissful sleep another loud clap of thunder sounded and he jolted upright in his bed. He sighed and figured he might as well stay awake until the storm was over and reached for his phone. He grabbed it off the charger and made sure he didn't wake up Jaehyun. He then got up and walked out of his room and towards the living room so he was sure he wouldn't wake him up.

He sighed as he sat down on the couch and unlocked his phone. He started to play a game when he got bored and decided to watch a video. Just as the video started he heard another one of the members doors open and immediately locked his phone. He sat unmoving in the dark room hoping that they were just going to the bathroom and wouldn't find out he was here. He didn't want to cause any of them to stay awake with him when he knows they need sleep more than he did. He heard the footsteps stop and the door close and sighed as he got more comfortable on the couch.

"What are you doing out here?" He heard a voice say and got so startled that he almost fell off the couch. 

He looked up to find none other than Mark standing in the opening of the hallway looking at him with a curious look.

"I could ask the same thing to you." Donghyuck said as he re-positioned himself yet again. 

"Well I had to pee and heard moving out here. I came to find out who was out here first." Mark said as he walked further into the room. 

"Well you can go pee now. It's just me out here." 

"I hope you know I'm going to come back out here and find out why you're here." Mark said as he turned around and walked towards the bathroom. 

Donghyuck sighed as he now had sometime to come up with a good excuse as to why he's awake and sitting in the dark. He heard the toilet flush and realized that he didn't have as much time as he thought. He started to panic as he tried to come up with a good excuse in a short amount of time. He almost figured one out when Mark came walking into the room. 

"So why are you out here?" Mark asked as he sat down next to Donghyuck.

"Well... um... you see the reason is kind of embarrassing so I'd rather not say." Donghyuck said as he looked down at his lap and rubbed the back of his neck.

"It's just me and I promise I won't tell any of the other members." Mark said as he put his hand on Donghyuck's knee for support. 

"You swear?" Donghyuck asked looking up at Mark a little.

"I swear and pinky promise if it'll make you feel better." Mark said as he held up his pinky.

"We don't need to go that far." Donghyuck said pushing Mark a little and laughing. 

They sat in silence for a little bit so Donghyuck could figure out his wording. The entire time he would fidget and look anywhere except at Mark. Once he figured everything out he looked up at Mark.

"So when I was really little I was terrified of thunderstorms. The fear went away after I turned about seven. Recently though the fear has started to come back and I don't know why. Every time we get a storm I get startled awake. Usually I can fall asleep before the storm stops but now it's so bad that I can't even get close to falling asleep. Now I have to stay up until the storm is over just to sleep. Sometimes I stay in my room but, this time I didn't want to possibly wake up Jaehyun-hyung so I came out here. I'll go back to my room once the storm is over I promise."

"Well as long as you're out here might as well have some company." Mark said as he got comfortable. 

"You're not going to go back to your room?" Donghyuck asked with wide eyes.

"I'm not going to leave you out here when a storm is going on. Now that I know you fear them you can feel free to come and get me if you need company." Mark said as he looked at Donghyuck before turning on the TV.

Donghyuck looked at him with a surprised look. This is not what he expected to happen but somewhere deep down he was happy that it did. He got comfortable and watched as Mark found something to watch and turned the volume down. Donghyuck started to relax and laid his head down on Mark's shoulder. The more he relaxed the more he started to feel slightly tired. He closed his eyes and soon fell asleep with his head on Mark's shoulder. Mark looked down when he heard Donghyuck's breathing slow and smiled to himself. He turned off the TV and carefully moved Donghyuck so he could get up. Once he was standing up he reached down and picked him up and walked towards his room. He laid Donghyuck down and crawled into bed next to him. He soon fell asleep with a smile on his face.
