Welcome to Arkadia {3}

Chapter 2

"It's been three hours. What are they waiting for?" Bellamy asked. 

"Even with the light, I don't see anyone." My dad said. 

"I say we make a run for it." I stated.

"No. That's what they want us to do." My dad objected. 

"The girl is right. They can wait longer than we can." Indra stated. 

"Okay. Bellamy, you get in the turret and cover us. Once we get to the ridge over there, we'll cover you." My dad told Bellamy. 

"Copy that. Run fast." He looked at me. "Be careful." 

"You too." I told him. He nodded. 

He opened the part leading to the turret. He stuck his head out and I looked out the back window with my dad. 

"They're here." Bellamy said. 

"Everyone out or the boy dies." We heard a masculine voice say then Bellamy got pulled out. I looked at my dad with wide eyes. 

'It'll be okay.' He mouthed to me. I nodded unsure.  

"Okay! Okay! We're coming out!" My dad called. He put his gun and bag down. Indra was slow to put her sword down. I sighed and put my sword down too. "Don't hurt him."

My dad started opening the door slowly. The door was then opened quickly. We got pulled out of the rover and thrown to the ground. We were being held down ,weapons at our necks waiting to kill us if we moved. 

"Bellamy!" I called. 

"I'm okay!" He called back. He was on the other side of our people. 

"All targets secure!" A woman's voice called. 

A grounder lifted Monty from the ground. They took the beacon from him. 

"That's mine. Give it back." Monty fought against a grounders hold. 

"Monty, let it go!" Bellamy called. 

"Monty?" We all looked at the woman with disbelief. We couldn't see her face because of all the grounder get up. 

"Mom?" Monty questioned. That increased my curiosity. The woman took the hood and mask off. I could see the resemblance between her and Monty. 

The grounder that was holding Monty let go. He walked forward and hugged his mom. I heard them crying quietly. 

"Farm station, stand down." The voice from before said. 

"Pike?" My dad asked. 

The guy took off the grounder stuff covering his face. It was ,in fact, Pike. He was the earth skills teacher on the Ark. 

"You have no idea how good it is to see you." Pike said offering a hand out to my dad. He helped my dad up. They hugged. 

"We didn't think you made it." My dad said. 

"Lacoix, Smith, watch our six. Everyone else, I said stand down." Pike told them.

"Yes, sir." From one man was the response he got. The weapons were removed from the rest of us. 

"Where's dad?" Monty asked looking around. 

"Your father didn't make it." Monty's mom explained. Monty looked so sad. 

I looked to Bellamy who held out a hand to help me up. I took it and he pulled me to my feet. I immediately hugged him. 

"Don't scare me like that." I told him. 

"I'm sorry?" He questioned. I laughed lightly. "How about we find Clarke and get back home?" He asked. I nodded. 

He turned to my dad. "Hate to cut this short. We gotta find Clarke. And Rach, is going crazy not being home right now. It's been a day. Lia needs her home." Bellamy said.

"Clarke Griffin? And Rachel Kane?" Pike asked looking between the two men. "If only all my Earth skills students were as good as Clarke." 

"Hey, I pride myself for being decent in your class." I objected. 

"Good to see you ,Rachel." Pike said. 

"Good to see you too." I responded. 

"Okay, move the tree." Kane told us. Bellamy and I started walking to the tree. 

"Help them." Pike ordered farm station. 

Monty came and stood by me. "Are you okay?" I asked him softly. 

"I have to be." Monty said. I nodded ,knowing how he felt. 

I leaned over and kissed his cheek. "And you will be."  

We started trying to roll the tree out of the way. It worked with how many people were trying. We got it out of the way quicker than I thought. 

"Kane, it's time to go." Bellamy called out. 

"Monty, give them the coordinates to Arkadia." Kane told Monty. 

"He doesn't need to. Rach, you want to take them back to Arkadia, go get to Lia. I'll bring Clarke back." Bellamy said. I nodded. I went over to him. 

"Be careful and come back to us." I told him. 

"Of course." Bellamy said. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into a kiss. I kissed him urgently ,making sure he knew to come back. We pulled away when we needed air. "I love you. So much." He told me. 

"I love you too." I told him. I pecked his lips again before pulling myself out of his arms completely. 

Kane and Pike talked for a moment. Monty's mom added her input a couple times. 

"Lacroix, take the team, rendezvous with the others, get them to Arkadia. And listen to Rachel." Pike told a guy. The guy he was talking to nodded.

We finally returned to Arkadia ,too late for my liking. Pike's people waited outside while Lacroix came into Alpha station with me. I went to the chancellor's office and knocked on the door. No one answered. 

"Let's try medical. She is a doctor too." I said leading Lacroix to medical anxiously. There was no one in medical. 

"Where is she?" Lacroix asked. 

"I don't know. I know someone we can ask. I need to find him anyway." I said ,happy I get to go find the people I need to find. 

First I went to Octavia's room since I asked her to take care of Lia. I pounded on her door. I got frustrated when no one answered. 

"Tavi!" I called. I sighed angrily and walked to a room down the hall. "Sam! If you're not in there, I'm gonna kick your ass!" I yelled at his door as I pounded on it. 

He opened the door. "Why so violent?" Sam asked. He was holding Lia. 

"Oh, thank God." I took the baby from his arms. She was sleeping now. 

"She was crying a lot earlier but then she fell asleep. I just got her to fall asleep. I ran out of bottles for her this morning." He told me. I nodded in understanding. 

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be gone so long." I said hugging my daughter to me ,glad to be near her again. I've only been away from her for a few hours at a time when I was on day trips looking for other stations. 

I heard a throat clear. That's when I remembered the other reason I was trying to find someone who I knew. 

"Where's Abby?" I asked Sam. 

"She went to Mount Weather to save Nyko. Octavia dropped by to make sure Lia was okay before running off to go with them." Sam told me. I nodded at him. 

I turned to Lacroix. "You'll probably have to wait until she gets back. You should go out and tell farm station what's going on." I told him. He nodded and walked off. "I don't think I'll be able to leave Arkadia again." I commented. 

"Yeah, you will. You love going out there. You just hate leaving her." Sam pointed out. I agreed with him. I looked down at the sleeping baby in my arms.
