"Sam, come on." I told my big brother.

"I'm coming. I'm coming." Sam said as he walked out of the entrance of the cave. We both looked out over scenery in front of us.

We could see the dropship from here. There were trees everywhere and they split apart for a river to run through. I loved the sight from up here. And I knew Sam did too.

"I wish I knew what was happening down there." I spoke up again after a couple minutes of silence.

"Me too. But for now we're up here away from it until someone comes to get us." Sam sated. I nodded.

"We should've brought a radio or something." I said.

"Bellamy will find us." Sam assured me.

"I know. I just hate waiting." I replied.

"Then let's not just wait. Come on. Let's train." Sam said.

"Okay, give me Lia." I told him. He listened and passed over the almost asleep Lia. I walked her inside and laid her in the makeshift bed.

We're now staying in a cave up the side of a mountain near the dropship. We just got a bed from dropship. We made a fire pit near the entrance to cook and keep warm. We also made a blanket out of a deer we killed for food. It wasn't much,-it was hardly anything- but we made it work.

Lia was fussing slightly as I put her down. I laid down beside her, humming softly to soothe her. I wasn't a good singer at all but I don't think she even cared. Soon enough her breathing evened out and I knew she was asleep.

I stood up from the bed and made my way to the corner, where our weapons were. I grabbed two swords before going outside with Sam.

"Hey." I got his attention before tossing him one of the swords.

He caught it and got into a fighting stance. I took a similar stance, needing a different footing to play to different advantages that I had than him. He had more strength while I had more speed.

He swung at me first, but I quickly blocked it. I pushed him back and quickly swung my sword at him. He narrowly blocked it. I stepped back but watched him in case he tried something.

"You're too stiff with your movements. And you're not familiar with the object in your hand. It's an extension of yourself, Sam." I told him. He nodded but still was too stiff with his movements. "Okay, let's take a break from that." I told him. He sighed and sat on the ground with a defeated look on his face. "Hey, you can't give up. You can do this, Sam. I know you can. You were on the guard for God's sake."

"They put a gun at my side and had me look tough. I've never had to kill anyone as a guard. I never had to do anything like this." Sam said. I looked at him, just wanting to help him feel less useless. I loved my big brother and I hated that he had felt this way this long. I hated that I let him feel this way for this long.

"Stand up." I told him.

"What?" He looked up at me curiously.

"I said, stand up. Now." I ordered. He stood up, confusion all over his face. I'd never talked to him, or anyone for that matter, like that in my life. "Pick up your sword and hold it in a defensive position." He did what I told him to. I walked behind him and adjusted his stance. Then I grabbed his arm and guided it with striking movements. "Remember, it's in extension of yourself. Now do it yourself." I told him. As he moved, I put my hands on his tense shoulders. "Relax." I told him. He took in a deep breath and relax his muscles before moving his arm again. "Better. Now let's go again."

We trained for an hour before laying on the ground out of breath. We just stared up at the sky as we let out heavy pants. I chuckled before looking over at him.

"Much better." I told him. He grinned at me.

"Tomorrow?" He questioned.

"Yeah. Of course. You'll be a pro in no time." I told him. He chuckled with me.
