Two years later...

Emily woke up with a jump, in a place she didn't recognise. Glancing around, her eyes fixed on a bed of golden flowers. Among them was a gleam of silver, buried in the dirt. Walking over to inspect it, she realised that the regular light green jewel accompanying the object had disappeared.

"Ah right...I left the jewel at home." She giggled, placing her tiara back on her head. Stopping to smell the flowers, Emily picked one, and tucked it behind her ear.

Suddenly, she quietened, as she heard footsteps approaching. She ran to hide behind a nearby pillar.

From the darkness appeared two goat monsters, a boy and a girl who seemed to be friends. They only seemed to be around 12 years old. One had a tuft of fur atop his head, whilst the other had a head of brown hair, with purple dip-dye.

They both giggled, as the girl chased the boy onto the flower patch, collapsing in the grass, smiling. The boy shortly followed, sitting down on the grass next to her.

Seeing how happy they were, despite being trapped underground for the past twelve years... it made Emily feel even more strongly about breaking the barrier.

So, she decided to introduce herself. Walking over, she smiled and waved. The two children did not look up, and instead, continued talking.

"Hello monsters! I am Princess Emily Spadix, ruler of the humans! I come in peace!" She announced bravely, kneeling down to look at them.
The children continued to ignore her, as they started making a flower crown together, still smiling gleefully.

"Uh...hello? Are you listening?" Emily implored somewhat angrily, as she reached out to touch the female goat on the shoulder.

Suddenly, her hand glitched, and she retracted it quickly. The girl stopped for a second, but then went back to the flower crown.

"Ow! The hell?" She yelled, moving her hand over to the boy, curious to see if the same thing would happen with him.

Strangly, as Emily reached out to touch him, her hand went through him. Confused, she started trying to punch the goat repeatedly. Every attack faded through him.

"What...How?" She exclaimed, trying to control her shaking arms. Looking down at the ground, she was even more suprised to discover she had no shadow.

"Am I...Dead?" She echoed, as the children ran off to play once more, the boy wearing the flower crown inbetween his horns. Emily sniffled, and started to sob, her ghostly form fading away, disappearing to somewhere...she didn't know. Her crown dropped to the floor, but she didn't care.

She wanted to get away from here.

30 minutes later...

Another child thudded down onto the floor from the sky, the flowers breaking their fall slightly, but not stopping them from sustaining serious injuries. They couldn't feel their left leg at all, and a loud pounding sensation emanated within their whole body. They were determined to live.

"Ah- my fuck...ing leg..." They cried out weakly, staggering their breaths to keep themselves awake.

"HELP! ANYBODY!" They yelled, wincing as the pain through their body intensified.

A short distance away, through the catacombs of the Ruins, the male goat monster heard a faint yell as he and his sister were walking home. Passing his sister the flower crown from earlier, he ran towards the commotion courageously.

"Help...please..." The human moaned, dropping their head back into the flowers in defeat.

"Ah! It sounds like it came from over here!" The monster gasped, running towards the flower patch where his sister and he had been playing earlier, but not before stubbing his toe on something. Looking down, he spotted a small, silver tiara lying on the ground. Curious, he pocketed it for later.
