It was always her

"Sooo" I say dragging the 'o' out. We were in the Blue&Gold reorganizing and cleaning up. She turned around to me, with her big blue eyes staring up at me. "How did the tour go with Veronica?" she slightly smiles "It actually went good. She is really nice and she invited me over to her house after school." I was surprised. Maybe even shocked. "Well I am glad you made a new friend and if anything goes wrong, I'll be at Pops like always." She gave me a soft smile and went back to working.

"Have you talked to Archie yet today?" I ask, hoping everything was better between them. "Yeah, uh, actually I have and he apologized and said that it was supposed to be 'our night'" "...oh, well did you forgive him?" "Yeah, I can't always be mad at him and I am trying to get over him" She said, not looking away from her work

Betty's pov
I wouldn't say that I am fully over Archie, it's been a day. But I can tell I have lost some feelings for him.

I am still so thankful for Jughead and our friendship. He actually kind of looks good today. I can't believe that i'm thinking of this, but the way his black curls rest on his head and his blue eyes, the way he's dressed... Next thing I know i'm caught looking at him. staring. Not even realizing it, then he turns around and sees me. At first his eyes widen and then he gives me a soft smile, and I return one back.

Jughead's pov

Next think i know we are both staring at each other. I need to stop this, but I don't know how. "We should head to lunch" is all I manage to get out.

Betty decided to sit with Veronica, Archie, and Kevin. We sat outside, which I don't know why because it is a cold day. Betty and I sat next to each other with everyone else across from us.
A few words were said between Archie and Betty. You could tell there was still a little bit of tension between them. Veronica was sitting next to Archie, of course. Betty didn't seem like herself at lunch. "You ok Betty?" Archie said, looking a little worried. "Um, Yeah" She said while clearly giving him a fake smile. She then scooted closer to me a little more. Our shoulders touching. My eyes widened a little. Kevin raised his eyebrow at me, and Archie shot me a look. Um, ok don't know what that was for.

I was gathering my stuff for the end of the day, I was about to close my locker when I heard a familiar voice behind me "Hey" I knew exactly who it was without even turning around. Betty. "Hey" I say back, finally turning around. "I just wanted to say goodbye before I left with Veronica." She is so cute. I smirk at her, "Well, goodbye Cooper" "Bye Jug" as she says that she pulls me into a hug. I wanted this moment to last forever. It felt like we were the only two people in the world, but of course it ended as she pulled away.

I watched her walk away with her ponytail bobbing. I was about to leave the school when Kevin stopped me. "So, I saw that hug. What was that?" Shit. Does he know I like her? And now he's going to start asking questions about us when I don't even know what's going on. "I have no idea" Then I walked away. Thinking about her
