After a month of getting things in order I am finally on my way to Montana. Selling the house got me enough money to buy a train ticket most of the way then I'll find a horse and ride the rest. Should only be a day or two of camping at that point.
I'm so glad to get out of here. The neighbors have been trying to marry me off ever since they found out Dad was dead. Apparently it's not "ladylike" to run a horse ranch. Ugh!
I miss my family so much. I lost Mom and my two brothers and was so excited when I received the letter from Montana. I thought Dad was sending for me. He definitely wasn't.
I hope Dad has the ranch paid off. Otherwise I'm gunna have a lot of horses to train. He's usually good about finances so I hope he did. I wonder what people will think of a girl trainer? Heaven knows Missourians don't care for one.
I hope I have everything packed. I should maybe make a list.
1. All my pants (I'm going to be doing a lot of riding I'm sure)
2. My work shirts
3. My boots and belt
4. My gun
5. My Sunday dress
6. The family photo
7. The left over moneyThe train leaves tomorrow! I'm so excited!
Sorry it's short but I wanted to get my ideas for the first entry out! Hope you guys like it it'll pick up speed soon.
