SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

Hiccup gazed up at the night sky. He tried counting each of the flickering stars, but his mind kept distracting him.

I could've saved him.

I could've done something.

I could've had my family again.

But no, I didn't listen.

And now, I carry the responsibility of keeping he peace, and caring for the people of Berk.

What if I fail?

What if Drago somehow returns, seeking revenge?

What'll happen then?

What if everything was for nothing?

What if... losing dad... was for nothing?

A twig snapping not far behind Hiccup jarred him out of his thoughts. Gasping, he whipped his head around to find that the source of the noise was none other than Astrid.

"Oh, it's just you."

"Just me?"

"Well, for a second, I thought that maybe- never mind."

Astrid decided not to question him on this. Instead, she strode over to Hiccup and sat next to him on the soft grass. "You okay?" She asked him softly.

"Why wouldn't I be?" He shrugged.

"You always come here when you're upset. Seriously Hiccup, I know you. Don't try and hide it," Astrid punched him in the shoulder.

"Alright, alright, I just wanted to think, that's all," Hiccup answered with a sigh. "Ow."

Astrid placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Is it your dad?"

Hiccup looked down at her with tears glistening in his eyes, then turned away quickly. "I just feel like I could have done something."

The girl took his hand. "Hiccup, there was nothing you could do. The alpha had Toothless completely in his control! You did everything you possibly could have done. And not only that, you saved Berk again."

Hiccup pulled Astrid into a tight embrace, before wrapping one of his arms around her. They stayed there, watching the moon lit sky.

After quite some time had passed, Hiccup looked down at Astrid and decided to test his luck. "You're so lucky to have me," he smirked.

The blonde girl scoffed, her smile quickly changing to a frown, "Excuse me? Yeah, right. if anything, you're the lucky one."

"Nope," He shook his head.

That earned him another punch on the shoulder. "Yes, you are!"

Hiccup chuckled. "You're the cutest thing when you're mad, you know that?"

Another punch, this time to the gut.

"Hiccup! I am not!" Astrid was obviously flustered and Hiccup decided not to continue to make her feel this way.

"Okay, okay, I'm done. Sorry," Hiccup was still laughing slightly at Astrid's reaction.

Astrid turned away from him, pretending to shun him.

"Aw, come on. You're not going to ignore me forever, are you?"

No reply.

"Well, milady, I hope you don't mind this!" Hiccup turned her head towards his, pulled his face towards hers, and closed the gap between their lips.

When they separated, the two stared at each other for a few moments before bursting into laughter.

Well, there you go! I hope you liked it.

It was short, but I' crossing my fingers that the ending did it justice(?). I spent a lot of time thinking it over. not to mention, I had to start over once after it didn't save. If you have any prompts for future drabbles, just comment them, and I'll try to write one based on the prompt when I have the time!
