A week had passed since the eventful day that had changed the two boys' lives.
A week without Ben at school, and Andrew left alone without the boy he was falling in love with. He'd left him a text message every day after school to make sure Ben was still doing okay, and Ben always replied with an 'i'm doing fine'.
Finally, the weekend arrived. Andrew planned on visiting Ben after the football game tonight, he had to see the boy. He had to know that he was okay.Later that night, at the Friday night football game, Ben showed up in a small jacket over his Les Misérables T-shirt. His white high top converse slowly walked to the back of the bleachers, his walk with a bit of a limp, but it wasn't too noticeable.
Once he sat down, Ben eyes scanned the field for Andrew, the only reason he was even there. The game had started a few minutes prior to is arrival, so Andrew was easily spotted running after some guy on the opposing team. Ben smiled to himself upon seeing the handsome boy do his thing out on the field.Once the game was over, Ben slowly made his way down to the field as the rest of the crowd rushed down their to storm the field due to their team winning the game. He tried to push himself through the crowd, staying unnoticed as he planned. Once he laid his eyes on Andrew, he made his way to the boy and tapped on his shoulder.
"Remember me?" Ben asked with a goofy grin across his face.
"Ben!" Andrew exclaimed after turning to face the short boy.
"Hey. Nice job on the game." Ben said sweetly to Andrew.
"Thanks! I'm so glad you came." Beamed the boy, out of breath and all sweaty from just finishing the game.
Ben nodded "I figured I'd come to see you. You've been so sweet about making sure I was alright, I wanted to actually see you."
"I've missed you." Andrew said, lifting his hand to gently graze Ben's upper arm.
Ben felt his cheeks sting a bit with a light pink blush, "I've missed you too."
Andrew moved his arm back down to grab Ben's wrist, slowly pulling him to the outside of the crowd so they could actually talk without speaking over everyone.
"Hey, we're going to an after party over at Danny's house. Any chance you'll come with me? I know it's not ideal to go to the guy who beat your ass's house, but I don't wanna go with Ella. She'll just want to leave early to go make out in my truck."
Ben looked down at the turf, before looking back up to Andrew's perfectly structured face "I don't know... I want to but I don't think that it's a good idea."
Andrew nodded "Yeah, I know." he sighed, a bit disappointed. "We could go back to my house and hang out, or you can just go home. We can hang out tomorrow. I want to catch up eventually, though. No negotiation on that one."
Ben smiled a bit at how much Andrew really cared about their complicated relationship. He felt bad about the party, because Andrew seemed to really want to go. And Ben did too, but he could get beat up again. It was risky, but what's life without taking risks?
"You know what, I'll come to the party with you." Ben said.
Andrews face lightened up a little "Really!? Cool! I promise I won't let them lay a hand on you. You have my word."
This made Ben chuckle "Okay, my beloved bodyguard." he joked.
"Umm, wait here for a sec. I'm gonna go tell Danny you're coming and that he better not do anything douche-baggy." Andrew said, disappearing into the crowd of celebrating students.Ben looked down at his sneakers in the green turf and couldn't help but smile. He was going to a party at a football players house, with the most attractive and popular guy in school. What wasn't there to smile at?
