The elevator was much more crowded than usual with nearly everyone in it- Shuko had to duck because he was so close to the ceiling. It was very obvious that the Unkindness and the Murder were keeping distance between themselves and the others. Neith was trapped in the corner; Sebastian was taking precautions.
The silence was broken by a Cast member; Makkitotosimew. They called her Toto for short since her full name was too much of a mouthful.
"Are the twins here?" She asked hopefully, looking at Shuko. He opened his mouth to respond, but Ace lifted him so that his head smacked the ceiling and the dark-haired hacker let out a long string of muttered curses.
"They're out at the moment," Nina answered, looking very uncomfortable with her arms crossed as the elevator continued it's ascent to the seventh floor. Toto's face fell. "Ah, I see."
Sever sent Toto a smirk. "Seems loverboy isn't here today after all," He said smugly, earning him annoyed looks from both Toto and Neith.
"Um excuse you, he is not anyone's loverboy," Neith snarled viciously, his eyes darkening. Anyim let out a deep laugh. "Don't tell me you're after him too," He teased. Neith looked about ready to kill everyone in the elevator. Luckily, they were saved by the opening of the doors.
Sever and Anyim burst into laughter once they had gotten out of the elevator and followed Shuko to two translucent doors. Shuko tapped Ace's shoulder twice and the cyborg rolled his eyes before letting the hacker down. Shuko grinned once he was sure they had all arrived before swinging the doors and sashaying inside.
While everyone gathered into a large high-ceilinged office, Shuko arranged the little refreshment table and had even set up digital name tags for each person to clip onto their top. He had also made one for himself- a cute shrimp background included.
"Gather round, ducklings, mother Shuko wants to start the discussion~!" Shuko called, already perched on his swivel chair, which he had brought up from the 5th floor. "Don't forget to fill out your name tags~"
Some begrudgingly, others excited, and a few indifferent about the situation, they all took a thin screen and typed in their name before attaching it to their shirt. Jasmin had tried to type 'pretty boy' in for Oscar, but his choice was quickly declined and the screen was shoved into his stomach.
"Alright, everyone, take your seats!" Shuko said loudly, gesturing to the chairs that sat around the long table. Ace was the only one standing apart from Sebastian, who was standing near the doors. The security guard was there for precautions. Meaning, Neith's aggressive behavior.
"Now then," Shuko began, pulling out a bag of shrimp chips, "Let's get started, shall we?" He said, smiling at Luca and Rhydian who were staring out the large windows that looked out upon the third district.
Shuko leaned forward a little bit and pressed a small button, which caused a tiny screen to pop up. He placed his thumb in front of the holographic screen and it scanned his finger before disappearing. Multiple, much larger screens popped up above them, all around the table. Ace pulled up a screen of his own and began typing furiously yet again. He was continuing his software, which was near completion.
"Please, use the resources provided for you," Shuko said, nodding as Anyim and Khloris pressed similar buttons on the table, opening smaller screens in front of them.
No later than a second after opening her screen, Cao shot up from her seat, gaping at what it was showing her. "You can't be serious-"
"I'm afraid I'm very serious, Cao-san. It's spread that far in a matter of days." Shuko shook his head with a frown, swiping across a map of the districts. Brightly coloured spots indicated where the virus had corrupted and taken over technologies.
