We all have those moments when you can't help but wish to be anywhere else in the world than where you are now. Finding yourself stuck wishing at that moment your fairy godmother could bippity bopitty boo you out of there before things could get any worse for you...

But sadly in my pathetic little life, there is no mystical magical wand waving fairy-godmother to save the day from the evil ... Tiffany.

I had just worked thing's out with mom after feeling completely and utterly abandoned after finding out she'd left dad and gotten engaged to some rich bloke. And when I meant rich, I mean like his garbage can looked like it was worth more than my whole existence kind of rich! And I'd like to think my life is worth more than a garbage can.

I had been practically pampered with gifts after and thing's were starting to look up... and it wasn't because of the gifts. It just seemed like maybe this guy wasn't so mean. After all, I mean he did put in a lot of work with mom to make me feel at home... okay, he did a lot more than 'try' to make me feel at home!

But that was right up until this fancy four-course meal comprised of appetizers, auntrays, the main courses and of course deserts. They called it dinner and I called it an all you can eat buffet!

I seriously had never eaten so much in my life. The food was great, like a five-star rating great.

It was more like the dinning company that was the ones lacking their five-star rating from me.

I had just walked into the dining room after throwing on my usual fuzzy dark blue long sleeve sweater and sweatpants when I noticed what all the others had on.

" I'm sorry, are you guys having guests over tonight?" I said examining the black tucks Bryan had on and the satin burgundy dress my mother was wearing. Her hair was pinned up showing off the diamond necklace around her neck paired with these shiny black heals.

" Um, no it's just us." Bryan laughed and I smiled rather nervously and a bit confused.

"Yumie what's for dinner it smells so good!" I heard Amber voice say from behind me. I turned around just in time to see Amber and Tiffany gracefully walk in dressed in two stunning dresses.

"Oh wow, Alexis you look so... comfortable," Amber said in an uneasy tone.

"Don't be a fool sister, one doesn't wear pajamas to dinner. Surely she was just about to go get changed." Tiffany said crossing her arms over her blue strapless dress with black laces across the top.

" I... I didn't know, I'm sorry." I apologized in a panic looking to my mother and Bryan.

" Maybe you should go change." My mother said with an uneasy smile.

"No, that's quite alright. Come have a seat, my dear." Bryan said motioning to the empty seat at the end of the long rectangular table.

"But dad, what happened to you always saying a 'The first step to being respected is to look respectful?"Proclaimed Tiffany.

" I think Alexis looks fine," Bryan said smiling at me, and that's when Tiffany started to completely lose it!

"What are you talking about, the help is dressed better than her. She's wearing pajamas for crying out loud!" Tiffany shrieked.
