Arohi stared as Arjun opened the can of his diet coke and took a long sip. She furiously tapped her foot waiting for him to speak.
"What is it?" she asked impatiently.
Ignoring her, he kept the can on table and opened the pack of chips and ate one from it.
"There is still time u can run away, I'll make all the arrangements for u"
She fisted her hands on table. The nerve of this man. U know what is dangerous- an angry woman and what is more dangerous than that, it is- a hungry angry woman! Right now she was the later one. If he crap was all he going to speak then for sure there won't no wedding tomorrow because apparently u can't marry a dead person. Can u?
He opened the pack of biscuits and leaned back "Guess it's not happening!" he sighed.
Keeping her hand on her stomach she tried to calm down her grumbling stomach. Seeing food in front, her stomach had gone berserk.
"There is one important thing I want you to follow."
There we go! she thought rolling her eyes.
"Whatever the real status of our marriage is, we are going to be one happy couple in front of world. I have no interest in making fun of my personal life out in public. And there is nothing more important than cricket for me, not even my life! World Cup is around the corner and I don't want any distractions. So whatever u do from tomorrow onwards, always keep it in your mind that u r now Arjun Singhania's wife!"
The arrogance in his voice infuriated her but keeping her composure she retorted "As long as u will keep it in ur mind that u r my husband!"
Raising his brow he mirrored her challenging expressions "I told u I have no interest in being the subject of public mockery"
She gave him a slight nod "Is that all?"
"Yes! he stood up to leave but stopped "and yeah! Can't wait to have u home, have so much planned for u" he creepily smiled and left from there.
Shivers ran down her body. This marriage is going to be one hell of a ride and she hopes, she comes out live out of it. Her eyes fell on chips packet Arjun had left behind, she turned to call out him but he was nowhere in vicinity. The grumble in her stomach forced her to eat the chips siding her ego besides he would never know that she ate the chips bought by him.
When Arohi was returning back she met her father standing outside her room.
"Papa! What are u doing here at this time?" she asked walking towards him "Are u alright?" concerned filled her in the moment.
Sudhir smiled nodding his head "I am fine Aru. Like every bride's father a bit worried so came here to meet you but then decided against it not wanting to disturb your sleep. But what are u doing outside?"
Arohi stuttered on not finding any appropriate answer.
"are u nervous for tomorrow?" he asked saving her from thinking of excuse.
Arohi nodded with small smile "isn't every bride before the wedding?"
He chuckled and wrapping his arm around her shoulder walked towards the small settee in the corner.
"are u happy, my child?" Arohi didn't know why but hearing that question her eyes teared up and before she knew tears were flowing from her eyes uncontrollably. Her silent cry turned into sobs as she was pulled in tight embrace of her father.
"What happened Aru? If u don't want this marriage I am calling this off right now"
She shook her head composing herself. Wiping her tears she looked at him "No Papa I am alright! It's just..I will miss u and Sanchit"
