Chapter One

*Sope's pov*

Like every normal student I wasn't so thrilled to resume school tomorrow ,who in my shoes would want to resume school?

I wasn't your typical popular girl, I'm more like a ghost in school , I'm super clumsy, I can't sing, I can't dance, I can't cook, I  can't do anything, to make matter worse, I had no friends except from my best friend Naomi, sometimes I wonder why she's best friends with someone like me.

Unlike me she was social, she spoke with the popular people plus her sense of humour was amazing. My life is pretty boring but I  think there was a time it was kind of exciting in grade eight, I had a crush on a boy but he never noticed me,I was always stalking him, Naomi called it an obsession but it wasn't, when I resumed for grade nine, he had already left the school and the moment I found out he had left, I cried my eyes out.

I was currently in my living room thinking of my sad life, junior school was terrible for me. whenever I fought with Naomi, I end up having no one to talk to so I end up sulking and eating alone hoping for us to reconcile.

Now I'm resuming for senior school tomorrow, I'll just try to leave my quiet boring life without minding anyone. Maybe Naomi would probably be my partner again. Then it finally hit me, Naomi is going to science field and I'm going to art field, there's no way we can end up in the same class.

"Damn!!" I yelled in frustration. I had nobody, in school they call people like me a screp because I have no social life and I'm unpopular.

I went over to my room and saw my well ironed uniform, it was a blue flair skirt with a white shirt, red tie and a blue blazer, the uniform was beautiful, that was practically the only reason I was happy to resume school, I couldn't wait to try the uniform.

"Sope! Sope!!" Anna, my little sister yelled running into my room.

She approached me and I tackled her to my bed then I started tickling her.She started laughing so hard and begged me to stop, I ignored her and continued to tickle her till I became satisfied.

"Has Femi arrived?" I asked her.

"No" She replied sweetly, I really miss my elder brother Femi, since he got to university I hardly see him again.

I became quiet for a little while and then I  looked over at Anna and saw how cute she was, unlike me she got mum's perfect lips and well structured face.

I felt so insecure all of a sudden and murmured in distress.

 Anna left the room after she saw I wasn't in the mood to talk anymore. I retired on my bed and in no time I met my self in dreamland.

"Naomi!!!" I yelled and she turned her head facing me, when she spotted me her eyes brightened as she came over to meet me.

I quickly hugged her tightly and she pulled away immediately.

"Why are you embarrassing me?" She asked jokingly and I laughed.

"I missed you so much", I muttered.

"Of course you did", she replied and I hit her playfully.

"You look so nice Sope",she complimented me for the first time in a long time. To be honest I actually looked nice, the uniform fitted me perfectly.

"Who knew you had shape",she continued  and I started laughing again.
We were currently inside the school,we decided to part ways since our classes were different, I quickly went into my own class and spotted an empty seat at the back.

I looked around the class and saw people discussing, I was alone, sulking all by myself, it sucks to be alone especially when you're used to it.

I felt a sudden presence next to me and I looked up and saw a girl,a beautiful girl, she was smiling brightly at me and I wondered why.

"Is the seat taken?" She said obviously referring to the one next to me.

"Yes...I mean no", I said and she sat next to me. I became so happy,at least I had a partner. It was very awkward at first until she spoke.

"I'm Amina", she introduced herself.

"Sope", I  replied.

"Are you a transfer student?" She asked and I felt so embarrassed, I guess she never noticed me in junior school.

"No", I replied then she brought up a topic,we talked and talked till we discovered our undying love for telemundo, I thanked my lucky stars for sending a friend to me.

In no time I knew practically everything about her, our teacher came into the class and we had to end our conversation.

Time went by so fast and it was finally break, I excused myself from Amina and went to Naomi's class, we usually go to the dinning hall together.

As we entered into the hall, I saw the clear division between the populars and screps.
As we were walking to our usual table I looked around and saw the most popular guys and girls sitting together, they're always together because they are all practically dating each other. Most of the popular guys hang out with the popular girls.

I saw Agnes laughing at something Linda said . Phoebe was next to her and  then Stephanie, Toby, Michael, Fred, Kelvin and Henry.

Agnes was the leader of the girls, she's really gorgeous but she could be a bitch sometimes, everyone knew she liked  Toby, I wonder why they aren't dating.

 
Linda is completely different from the others, she's really short and she's obsessed with guessing people's height. She has never dated anyone before and I also wonder why.

Phoebe is the quiet one but I know deep down she had her other side, she's currently dating Fred while Stephanie is the sassy girl, she has one hell of an attitude, she's dating Henry and I don't know how he's coping with her.

Over to the boys, first is Toby, I have a big crush on him currently but I know there's no hope for me that's why I didn't bother to tell Naomi. I don't know why I like him so much, maybe it's because he's so handsome or the way he walks?

There was something so special about him plus he's  really rich but don't get me wrong, I don't like him because  of his money.

Michael is the proudest amongst them, I  hate him so much. One time he hit me and blamed it on me without apologising, I was so furious and I insulted him. He has his stupid brush he carries with him everywhere.

Fred is the athletic guy of the group, Kelvin is the player amongst them, I don't know why girls keep falling for him when they know he'll end up using them. Henry is the good guy,he's really patient and calm.

I walked smartly beside Naomi and then I heard Agnes's voice as we passed their table.

"Naomi, come join us",she said and Naomi gave me an apologetic look, I knew she couldn't resist the offer,a once in a lifetime opportunity to sit with the most popular people in school.

"Sope? That's your name right?" She asked me and I nodded my head in reply, then she continued.

"You can also join us".

My eyes widened in surprise as her words echoed in my ears.
