Lifting the rusted latch to the door, I made my way in. instantly greeted with a wagging tail and barks, Rookie bounded around my feet and I petted her while laughing at her excitement, walking into the kitchen my laughs and smiles faded when I noticed the figure sitting by the table. "Hello..."
"I had Rookie scratching at the door, opening it I just found her... no you." Taking a deep breath, I fiddled with my fingers as I glanced around the room, almost panicking at the thought that he could easily make this my last taste of freedom, "I lost her at the market..."
"It was packed then?" nodding I felt my heart in my throat, the same feeling from when I was at gun point hit my body as he stood up, "they were selling that new Starrick medicine... so people were flocking..." I mumbled as he walked over to me, he used to tell if I was lying through my teeth but today must have been a blessing, he only frowned at me as he pulled me into a short hug, "I'll call you down for dinner."
"Okay..."
My room was the quietest it has ever been, I just found myself lying down on my bed staring at the ceiling, my mind flooded with todays events. Ever since I doctored Jacob he has been showing up more often and even though he's a dangerous man I found his life so interesting. He was so free to make such rash decisions which confused me so much, how was be able to get away with it all? I nearly died because of his carelessness but despite staring death in the face my mind races and my body desires more of it. Maybe its because of the shock and because its such a new feeling for me: a pleasure that I never thought I could have...
Feeling my eyes wither I yawned loudly and proceeded to kick my shoes off my feet, curling up into my blanket I found myself wishing to run into this strange man more,
