The sound of gunfire filled the room, but no pain? No blood? No backfire?

The Blighters body fell to the floor, from the corner of my eye I noticed Jacob and his Rooks by the stairs with the rest of the children, two Rooks pointing guns at were the blighters was stood; fresh smoke flooding from their guns after the new shots. I made frightful eye contact with Jacob and the relief washed over me as if it was a cold bath, his Rooks had missed two blighters and it nearly cost me my life. Heart racing and blood cold, I managed to find a box to sit on whilst my head became fuzzy and light, Jacob asked the Rooks to help the rest of the children out, he soon came over to me "Are you alright?" glancing over at him I could only nod, hands still shaking I gripped onto my skirt, regretting my poor chose. "I, I think I'll head home..." I muttered under my breath as I stood up, Jacob gave me a concerned look, "How about I take you home, it... well t partially was my fault," he coughed the last part as if ashamed or embarrassed that he was wrong.
