Chapter 6

In return, I wanted to post another chapter for all the readers, thank you for everything and for waiting all the time (I know, it always takes so long for another upload).

We were staring at each other for the last minute or so. I couldn't take my eyes off him because everything seemed nothing more than a mere dream. He didn't seem real anymore, but the kiss was real and there had been nothing more real than that. We were in this weird position where I was leaning back and kneeling down, and he hovered over me, his hands extended on the ground cornering me in. His hand came up gently grasping my cheek and wiping my tear with his thumb. Somehow, I had been crying of the confusion and mixed emotions. Everything had come up at once. 

"Look at me. I won't leave you ever again." He smiled, his eyes smiled haplessly. His eyes curved down slightly and he looked like a happy sad clown. A happy sad clown. The irony stuck onto me. I never knew I'd fall in love. I never knew someone would love me more, and we smiled at each other like we knew everything. 

His gentle touch sent shivers down my spine and he grasped the back of my neck, pulling me in towards him. Then, he pecked me lightly on the forehead and hauled me up, running to the entrance with my hand in his.

Outside, the sky frowned at us and the clouds covered up the sun with a light shade of gray. The sun still waved to us with the rays that came and went. Nothing could stop us from running, flying wild and free.

we ran like there was no tomorrow.

I held the door open and he came in like he was coming through Alice in Wonderland, except it was home.

But Kassy was doing good in high school. She started to stay at school more often. Even when I didn't want her to (Well, I never really wanted her there anyway). Once, I saw her stop before our house and she entered another one. In the distance, all I could see was a boy slinging his arm around her, and she entered a house that wasn't her own. 

After 3 hours, someone knocked on the door. What I could think of was Kassy, and I was right but for the wrong reasons. Opening the door, Kassy's hug melted my jealousy over the boy. Of course, why didn't I trust her? She'd never betray me. And her breath tickled my ear, she whispered, 

"Mister, please don't come out of the bedroom. Don't say a word, it'll be quick. Someone's coming over to our house, but they don't know about you. I'm sorry..."

"No," I paused, "It's okay."

I laughed, and what I thought was a kind-hearted laugh felt like a cacophony now. She clamped my mouth, head turned to the door constantly, and the foreign scent of flowers drifted from her hair. I knew that it wasn't for me, though. 

Was I a monster now? Or was it that she sees me as a monster? Yes. She will. I clarified it to myself a thousand times. More than enough in a lifetime because now, I'm afraid of how I look to her. Why didn't I know, it was my instinct to look monstrous. Just to suck in fear and now, I come to regret it. No need, I was born to be inhumane. I never was human. I'm a monster under the legends that float in Denver.
