My phone rang and I answered it, my hands sweating slightly. I heard the boys yelling and then Daniel laughed and said hi.
"Are they dying?"
"Not sure."
I laughed a little, kind of out of nervousness but also genuine.
"I like your laugh," He said.
"Thanks."
"Zach! Leave me alone!" Jonah yelled, then laughing after a loud noise.
"Zach just ran into the wall."
"Why would he do that?"
"I don't know, he's Zach."
"Where are you?"
"We're in our room. We have about 3 hours until we go on stage."
"What? I'm so sorry you should practice I didn't mean to bother you, oh my gosh I feel so bad," I said, apologizing more after that.
He laughed, "You apologize too much."
"Sorry."
He chuckled, my face going red. Thank cheese he couldn't see me right now because, oh my god, it would be embarrassing.
"That was an apology, I'm sorry! I mean I'm not sorry! Wait, now I'm just being rude!" I rambled on, chuckling nervously.
"It's okay."
"It is?"
"Yes."
"Oh yeah, of course, cool."
I heard mumbling and then a different voice who I recognized as Jonah said, "Hey, this is Jonah. Daniel kinda loves you."
"Oh, hi."
"Anyway, I'm hiding backstage and he is about to find me so let's just talk casually until then. Cool?"
"Cool. How's your day been?"
"Decent. You?"
"School." I summed up how bad it was with just one word.
"Sorry."
"Yeah, me too."
"Daniel is kinda dumb, he can't find me but I'm like, right behind him behind a desk."
We both laughed, probably drawing attention to where he was. It was kinda nice talking to them. I have admired them for a while, anyway.
"Jonah!" Daniel yelled and I giggled.
"Yeah, I'm about to get lit on fire by his eyes."
"Burn baby, burn," I sang part of 'Disco Inferno' and he chuckled.
"DISCO INFERNO!" He yelled down the hall and Daniel made a noise that made me assume he was confused.
"Jonah, can I talk to him again, please?"
"Oh, yeah, sure!"
"Bye, Jonah."
"Bye, nice talking to you."
I then heard him run away as he gave Daniel his phone back.
"Hey, Dani Boy."
"Hey, Watermelon."
"He's nice."
"He's a pain in the ass, actually."
