the fall of olympus // narrative
high off in chipped, imperial splendor
gods sit on thrones of once grandiose gold
prideful and vain, they did not surrender
now their powers are not in their control
the bright sun shone through apollo's powers
crystal waters raged through poseidon's might
now the glowing blue firmament cowers
and the ocean waves no longer affright
the silver halls of olympus crumbles
and gold infused statues crack at the seams
the potbellied gods recklessly stumble
vainglorious goddesses glumly dream
of the time before great Olympus fell
of the time before heaven became hell
