~Alex's P.O.V.~

I'm walking home from the park over thinking everything. I mean EVERYTHING. Me being me I always over think everything so of course my mind is creating the worst possibilities from what Jack told me. He's probably one of those crazy serial killers or something. He is probably planning to kill me. What is he hiding and why doesn't he want to tell me?

What's and why's filling my head as I'm walking home. Once I get home I open the door to my mother sitting in the living room watching TV. "Hey mom." I say as I go to sit on the couch. "Hi honey how was your day?" She asks as I'm pulling out my binders from my old backpack. Oh it was fine except for the fact that my new friend Jack is hiding things from me and I don't fxcking know why. "It was okay I guess."  I say. "Well that's good to know." she smiles.

She eventually stopped asking me questions so I could go up to my room once I finished my homework. It's  freezing in my room and I'm cold. Having Blink-182's The Rock Show stuck in my head the last three hours I decide to play some music and relax for once.

Two hours later my mother calls me down for dinner. "I'M NOT HUNGRY RIGHT NOW BUT THANKS!" I yell downstairs. After all the worrying I've done I couldn't eat without feeling like I'm about to throw up. I wish I could go see if Jack is okay but sadly I don't know where he lives. Why did I care so much about this boy? Why does he matter so much to me? I guess I just have to wait until school tomorrow to talk to him.

~Jack's P.O.V.~

I peel my eyes open, only to feel a stinging pain throughout my body. Waking up lying on my bedroom -blood stained- floor; well nothing has changed. It's Wednesday I think as I check my phone for the date. I look around my room and my father is no where in sight. Good. Leaning back against the wall I inch myself up the wall -agonizing in pain- until I'm able to walk.

I walk out of my room looking left and right for any sign of my father. There are shattered pieces of glass down the hall.  He must be out somewhere. I stumble over to the bathroom in pain and look in the mirror. Disgusting. I'm pathetic. I can't even protect myself from my own father.

I have thought about cutting before; just wondering if I would ever have courage to see if I could. But haven't we all done that before? Sure I do have a pretty dark mind and I am almost one hundred percent sure I'm depressed but my life has never gotten bad enough for me to physically hurt myself. Although I suppose some people can't fix their problems.

After a while of just staring into the mirror thinking I decide to have a shower and get ready for school today. Once I get out of the shower I get dressed carefully and grab some of my mom's cover-up to hide these new bruises and cuts. Good thing my mom has almost the same skin tone as me or I'd be screwed. My friends would definitely ask a lot of questions if I didn't.

Once I get to school I walk directly to my locker careful not to bump into anyone. Especially Brock or Alex. After what happened yesterday it will probably be awkward between Alex and I; no actually he probably hates me. He hugged me yesterday. Why? Does he care about me or was that just out of curiosity? He's probably tricking me into trusting him so he can backstab me. I can't trust him. Not yet at least.

I get to my locker and unlock it. Quickly collecting my things I grab my headphones and close my locker. I turn around and bump into Zack. "Hey."  "Hey, what's up man?" He says. Well he seems happy today. "Not much just heading to class with you... What are you so happy about?" I ask him while we turn to walk to class.

"Didn't you hear? Food Frenzy day is today!! They moved it up!!!" He basically squeals in my ear. So I should probably explain what Food Frenzy day is. Basically Food Frenzy Day is where we do no school work all day once a year. At lunch all the students from the school come to the cafeteria where there is a huge pile of food on the tables. We all have 20 minutes exactly to eat whatever we want from the tables and as much as we want.

After that we basically get to sit and do nothing for the rest of the day. Sounds cool right? Wrong. It's complete madness. It feels like when you have a lot to eat on Christmas holidays and you feel like you could go without eating for a week. I've never really participated in it for too long. I usually just grab a few bagels or something before it's all gone. To me the idea of stuffing your face full of food for 20 minutes seemed pointless.

"Well that's fabulous." I say sarcastically. "Come on dude! You barely ever participate in it, you should this year!" Zack pouts. A lot. "Dude no." I reply scowling. Zack always feels the need to try to get me into school activities and sports and I always say I'm not going to join just because he pouts about it. I'll probably just read this new book I got called The Haunted Mask by R.L. Stine seeing as everyone always participates in Food Frenzy. Here goes nothing.
