~Alex's P.O.V.~
What could Jack be hiding? He seems really nice. Then why would the teacher say that then? Okay I'll ask him when we go to the football field. What if he gets mad? What if's ran through my mind as I was walking to the football field. As I open the gate I see a tall lanky guy leaning against the tree who I assume is Jack.
As I approach him he slides down the tree to the ground. As I can tell he's been crying so I sit beside him. "What's wrong dude?" Asking as I turn to sit knee to knee in front of him. Wiping away his tears, he shakes his head.
He looks like he needs a hug. Thanks captain obvious. I need to shut up and go hug him. He's adorable anyways. I crawl over to sit beside him and wrap and arm around his back and just hug him. We sit like that for I don't even know how long. Jack's been crying into my chest and I've been holding him.
"A-Alex?" He says as he looks into my eyes. "Yeah Jack?" I ask with my arms still wrapped around him. "What did I do to deserve this? Why is it always me?" He was practically crying again. He buried his head in my neck. "Shh it's going to be okay. We are going to fix this but you have to tell me what's wrong." I say and look him right in his dark brown eyes.
"A-Alex I can't I j-just can't yet." He says to me almost crying, stands up and starts walking away. "Jack wait!! Here's my number when you want to tell me." Handing him a slip of paper with my number I had in my jeans. "Thanks Alex. I-I'm sorry." His voice trailed off at the end and that's when he just walked away.
~Jack's P.O.V.~
I just couldn't tell Alex anything yet. I know he means well but I don't know if I can trust him. Last time I trusted someone with a secret they ruined -are ruining- my life. Once you trust people too many times and they hurt you, it gets harder to trust people.
A couple of minutes of me walking home with me and my thoughts I can already feel tears rolling down my cheeks. I start sprinting home not even realizing my dad's car is in the driveway. Great. Blinking quickly I open the door and run up stairs to my room.
Once I get into my room I lock the door and fall to my blood stained mattress and cry. I cry hard. As I'm about to play a Blink-182 song I hear an angry knock on my door. "Jack Barakat open this door now!" My fathers slurred words came from the other side of the door. I knew exactly what he was going to do. He's drunk; of course I did.
Walking over to the door I slowly open it with my shaky hands. I barely get the door half-open before he takes his beer bottle and smashes it against the wall. Staring at the broken piece of glass in his hand I start backing away terrified. "No son of mine is going to be a faggot and live." He growls. "N-No please Dad please d-don't." I whimper as a tear falls down my cheek.
I feel his fist pound into my abdomen repeatedly making me shriek in agony. "P-Please stop." I cry as my body aches in pain.
"Stop,"
Punch.
"Begging,"
Punch.
"Faggot."
Punch.
Wheezing in pain I fall to the ground. Kick. His boot collides with my face repeatedly. At this point I'm sure my blood is staining the carpet. I can still hear my music playing as I'm laying on the floor; unable to breathe when everything goes black.
